Get Paid To Play Single-Player Games This June

by Tim Turi on May 13, 2010 at 09:03 AM

Remember “Pimp My Ride,” that TV show about turning crusty old jalopies into shiny, over-the-top whips? Remember how almost every car ended up with an Xbox crammed into the trunk with built-in HDTVs? Cabe Sipes, fabricator on “Pimp My Ride,” transformed those wrecked autos into awesome rides. He also apparently gives a *** about gaming, and has formed Pay Back Games. PBG is an online company that offers cash prizes for gamers competing in single-player gaming tournaments.

You read that right. Single-player video game tournaments. No longer will the Halo kidz hog the spotlight with their Slayer tournaments. You can create an account on PBG to earn cold, hard moolah by flexing your skill. Average prizes from PBG are in the $50 range. Entry fees for tournaments are about $7 (to cover referee fees and matchmaking). Players can access their winnings from the site whenever they want for some fast money.

According to the press release, games will take an average of 10 to 20 minutes to play, and gamers will cycles through about 4 to 10 games a night.

Here are the games teased in the video:

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops
  • Juiced 2
  • Call of Duty: World at War
  • UFC Undisputed 2010
  • Madden 10
  • Fifa 10
