First Alan Wake DLC Details Announced

According to the official Alan Wake Facebook page, we'll be seeing the writer's return a couple of months after the game's launch.

Scope out the quote below:

"Hold on to your Alan Wake token card found inside each new copy of Alan Wake to receive the first add-on episode. The episode titled 'The Signal' will be available July 27, 2010 on Xbox LIVE. Please hold on to your token card to redeem the content at that time and stay tuned for more details soon."

As someone who's beaten Alan Wake, I think it'll be very interesting to see where Remedy will go with the story. Will the DLC continue post-ending? How would that even work?

    @long tran, theopethaffintiy, lilikka, the dlc is 2 MONTHS after the games release. Yes of course they give copys of the games to the reviewers, how else would the review be out:)

    Well, if they plan to have a second "episode," I'd have to imagine the DLC will lead into that.

    I too have already beaten the game so i was interested in this when they announced it. They said in an interview with CVG that the DLC will NOT continue the main story but will bridge the gap between Season 1 and Season 2, meaning the first game and second game. Yeah I dont understand how you bridge that gap without continuing the original story but i guess since they claim the DLC will have a "different perspective" i assume that means you will be filling the shoes of someone other than Alan Wake.

    Ugghhhh, May 18th needs to come soon, lol.  I am very excited that Remedy is very focused on their "first season".  C'mon May 18th!!!

    I dont care about the DLC yet until I play the actual game, in saying that however, I can not wait for this game, it looks fantastic.

    Why were people surprised that he already beat the game? Game Informer already reviewed it, so obviously they already played it. They probably get review copies a couple weeks in advance.

    Even my smaller site, ResumePlay.net, got our review copy like 1-2 weeks ago and had the review up about a week ago.

    But anyway, on topic, I'm pretty excited to see what kinds of DLC they have for this game, since they said months ago that they envision it as an episodic game like a TV series. Glad I'll be getting my DLC token with the game!
