A cryptic email and website have revealed new information on the upcoming Assassin's Creed game.

Warren Vidic, that insidious genetic scientist from the future in Ubisoft's time-hopping action-adventure, seems to have a new plan afoot. He's sending out emails to folks on the Ubisoft mailing list with links to an unusual website that appears to reveal a number of new weapons usable in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

Here's an image of the email received by our executive editor, Andrew Reiner. Just click on the image to head to the website.

The teaser site includes images of five new weapons that appear in the upcoming game (axe, fan, syringe, dagger, and claw), plus a sixth weapon that requires completion of a puzzle to view. Between the email and the info on the website, you ought to be able solve the puzzle. Stop here if you want to try the puzzle by yourself.

If you're not in the mood for cryptic glyphs, we've solved the puzzle, and can tell you that the image below reveals the six glyphs you'll need to click in order to complete the puzzle. The first image can be found on the original email from Warren Vidic. The second through sixth glyphs appear after you click on the images of the other five weapons on the website, following the brief blurry video for each.

Once you click on the six images, you'll be privy to a view of the sixth new weapon, a switchblade, plus a download link to several different sizes of a wallpaper image for your desktop. You can see images of all six new weapons in the gallery below.
