Alan Wake 2 Plot Is All Set

We here at the Game Informer office chew on the plot of Alan Wake together nearly every day. Everyone that’s beaten the game has formulated their own unique take on what the hell transpired at the end. Predictably, the folks over at Remedy aren’t so confused by their game’s ending and have already laid out the ground work for the sequel’s plot.

"We do know where season two is going to go," Remedy head of franchise development Oskari Hakkinen told CVG. "Season one will have a conclusive and satisfactory ending but we will leave doors open for season two and we know where we're going to take the story."

When pressed for any details on Alan Wake 2, Hakkinen simply said "there's definitely a lot of room for speculation."

There certainly is, and we’ll continue to speculate until we get our hands on the follow-up.

  • dang, calling it season two instead of a second game is funny... i really hope they don't have 9 installments of this game and it becomes crappy like lost =P

the game doesn't come out for another week and they're already talking about the sequel ... slow down there sparky

but other than my fear of them ruining a good thing by shoving installments down our throats, I'm looking forward to Alan Wake
  • It is interesting the way he refers to entries as "seasons."

  • Good that they have it all planned out.

  • Haven't played the game yet but it is nice to know they have the story all spelled out in their heads and aren't just cash cowing a sequel...like Bioshock 2 (i still enjoyed it though)

  • So does this mean the sequel will be out within the next 5 years?

  • Season 2, eh?  I hope we can get some behind-the-scenes features as well, maybe some outtakes in which Alan messes up some lines... :-P

  • I'm actually kind of mad at the publishers/developers for canning the PC version of this.  I would have bought it day one, but no xbox...and no plans to get one...

  • @ Demon Ragnarok

it shouldn't take 5 years to release "season 2". the reason "season 1" (i love calling them seasons) took so long was because they planned on making the game open-world but scrapped that after a bit of time so it was back to square one. they have a plot and characters and engines. i would say about 2 years for "season 2". cannot wait!

  • Great news. We've all been waiting a long time for this game, it's good to know the time put in has for one made a good first entry (or so reviews are saying) but has set the foundation for sequels to be published a lot quicker.

  • Let me play this and I'll get back to you if there should be sequel.

  • If they are calling them seasons season 2 should come out next year if its anything like TV.

  • Sweet, glad there is going to be a sequel.
  • they calling it season because the game is divided in episodes. At the beginning of each episode you even have "previously on alan wake.."

  • no way! that's craaaaaazy ... it's obvious why they're doing that, the question that is being brought up is will they release sequels again and again or not.  Will they suck every penny they can out of this ( soon to be ) franchise or will they put time into their games? Not why are they calling them episodes?

  • Can't wait to play this!

  • Um, is this even news?  I mean, I guess GI's announcing that there will be a Alan Wake 2 but that was quick.  The game only came out May, wah, Wait a minute.....It hasn't even release yet.  Who talks about a sequel BEFORE the original releases.  What's going on here?!

  • if it was a second season why not DLC?  This should be called the second installment

  • yay!

  • The amount of people freaking out about the season two comment is quite annoying.

  • @colton2658....lost has not and never will get "crappy"...it was palnned to last this long from the beginning so get your facts straight before you talk...and this game is gonna be amazing
