Got Dead Rising 2 Questions? Last Chance To Ask The Devs!

Over the past few weeks we've been filling our Dead Rising 2 hub with loads of screens, exclusive videos, and more. Along the way, you might have come up with a few nagging questions about the game, the setting, characters, or whatever. We don't want to leave you hanging, so here's the deal: You submit your questions in the comments section, and we'll ask the guys at Capcom and Blue Castle Games for the answers. We'll record it all for a special-edition podcast that will be released shortly afterward. Sound good? Great!

Commenters who take the time to pose interesting, thought-provoking questions are more likely to hear their answers on the air. For instance, something like "How did you decide on Chuck when naming the main character?" is a bit better than "i lieked the first game duz this 1 have moor gunz!!!"

  • So there is obviously co-op as stated before, with co-op are they planning to make the game more difficult(If I recall there wasn't a difficulty setting in the first one), or double the amount of zombies?

  • I haven't played the first Dead Rising game so would I need to play it because of storyline?

  • Do you know if there's going to be split-screen co-op?  I know there's online, but a friend of mine was wondering if you could do it on one console as well.

  • Is there gonna be some DLC for the game???

  • Will there be different moves/combos to do with the weapons because from the videos, the combat seems kind of repetive?

    How varied is the game world (how many buildings can you go into, is all just city or are there suburbs,are there different cars and motorcycles (sports bike,muscle cars,SUVs, etc.)

    Will there be splitscreen?

  • 1. Does the game still follow a timed structure? If it doesn't, why remove something that made the original game unique?

    2. What was the thought process behind removing the main character's camera? That was a pretty cool feature in the first game.

    3. Infinity mode was my absolute favorite way to play the first game. Will it return for the sequel?

    4. Will Chuck dance around momentarily and grunt a little when trying on new clothes in Dead Rising 2? I loved that about Frank.

    (I kind of want to know about question 3 more than the others, but they are all questions burning inside my head)
  • The previous installment had some truly colorful psychopaths to battle, with the insane chainsaw clown, Adam, being a personal favorite. What kind of psychopaths can we expect to encounter this time around?

  • How did the process of selecting new weapons go about? Ex. did you build a shop and think of everything that would go in it, then make each and every item a weapon?

  • Are the AI buddies (survivors) going to be idiots like in the first game, or are they actually going to try and survive? (example: in Dead Rising, most of the time the survivors either get killed by one stray zombie, or run straight into the zombie crowd in an otherwise empty room.)

  • Seriously, Freedom Bear?

  • This may sound a bit stupid...

    When I first heard and played Dead Rising 1, I was informed of the population of zombies that invaded Willamette. So I thought, if I killed off zombies in a particular area that they would be gone for good. I returned to find that they respawned? I don't want to eliminate the possibility other zombies reached that area but...

    What will be the population of zombies/residents in DR2?

    Will the number of zombies decrease after killing them?

  • how many times do you have shot a psychopath in the head before they die this time? If its more than once, I'm sorry I wont be getting game...

  • In Dead Rising 1 I found that the weapons didn't last very long(especially the ones you wanted most), Has a balance been found between feeling badass with your chainsaw and feeling the need to scavenge to survive?
  • can you please take off the countdown... or make it only apply when doing a story mission...

  • Why did you dump Frank in favor of Chuck?

  • 1. When playing the first game on a standard definition TV, the text in the game was almost unreadable. Have you made any changes to font size in the sequel for people who haven't upgraded to an HDTV yet?

    2. The original Dead Rising included many clever nods to other Capcom games such as Megaman and Street Fighter, will the sequel follow suit? Would you mind giving us an example?

  • How customizable will the controls be in Dead Rising 2? Some sensitivity sliders would be nice and driving a car with the right trigger would be a great option.

  • I have 2 questions:

    1. Will this game have Strong Language? I really want to get this but if it has Strong Language I can't!

    2. How customizable is Chuck? Do you just choose different preset outfits or can you go as far as choosing hairstyle/color, torso, pants, etc.?

  • Will you be able to customize an avatar for multiplayer?
