Medal of Honor Ships Out In October + New Trailer

Electronic Arts' Medal of Honor reboot is now scheduled to hit this fall. The publisher has announced a release date for the modern day game set in Afghanistan.

The game is being developed by EA LA, and it will hit stores on October 12. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 studio EA DICE is handling the multiplayer, which is great news considering how well BC 2 is regarded.

Medal of Honor puts players in the middle of the current war in Afghanistan as a Tier 1 Operator – an elite soldier called upon to do missions no one else can – as well as other roles.

Here's a look at a new trailer for the game.

  • This looks to be pretty good, I must say.

  • Anyone find this a little to close for comfort?  Though I havent played Mondern Warfare 2--it probably falls within the same general scheme.  I just don't understand why we companies need to make games that are so close to reality-about something that no body really wants to do.  Why not just join the military?  I was fine with the historical or futuristic gaming...but this just does not interest me at all...but I guess I do not fall completely within their target demographic

  • This looks like a awesome shooter

    very excited for it

  • Have to wait and see but for right now it seems like an MW2 clone.

  • @Eric Geer

Uhh, I don't consider Modern Warfare to really be representative of serving in the armed forces in any way (not that I would know), which is my exactly my point. But yes, millions of people are drawn to media based off current/recent events in the world, military conflicts being the most appealing, I know that's how I was drawn to the Tom Clancy games when I was 11 or 12.
  • Sweet.

  • Looks like it's going for a more human feel than other war games.  It definitely sounds interesting to me, but it might chase away other people.  Just my two cents on the matter.

  • Looks like MW2 and BC2 but still good.

  • @Sfinx

Medal of Honor invented Call of Duty: MW2.

  • surprisingly good!

  • pretty sweet looking... ready to see some game play footage

i wonder if this will have some awesome set pieces like MW

  • ehhhh....

  • being available just in time to compete with CoD:BO.

  • ya we have to remember the medal of honor series started the whole WWII game series, where call of duty copied them. so in a way, if there was no medal of honor, there would be no MW2.

i want this game cuz that trailer was awesome, but im out of money. im getting red dead redemption, then halo reach, and then fallout new vegas. idk if i"ll have any money left over. sorry EA.......

  • Uh, you guys do know that West and Zampella worked on the first Medal Of Honor before the first Call Of Duty, right?

  • I liked the music at the end.

  • I may be interested in this, it all depends on how DICE does the multiplayer.

If its too much like bc2, then no thanks

  • Brilliance, that trailer.

  • Yeah... The first Call of Duty copied Medal of Honor. Then they took a break, and everyone forgot about MoH. So that's why people now accuse them of "copying". And MW2 has nothing to do with current events, or really true military stuff. It's more of an action film. Medal of Honor though, is going to be very different than we've seen before, because it's actually about a war we are currently in.

  • wow that looks great. if they can really capture the personal aspect of war and your life back home instead of just seeing the battle through a nameless soldier's eyes, wow thats exciting. i cant wait
