The lights are on
Clint Hocking, a creative force behind the early Splinter Cell titles and the lead designer for Far Cry 2 (shown), has left Ubisoft, saying, "I'm too comfortable."
Hocking who was with the company for nine years, posted an introspective post on his blog detailing his reasons for leaving. "I am too comfortable. I am too content. And I know where that can lead me," he wrote.
It doesn't sound like he has any immediate plans, but we're sure the need to rekindle his creative fire will no doubt lead him to continued success.

i hear they're hiring at Respawn Entertainment.
Well if it means making better games then good for him.
Hehe.
Good luck to him.
@omegaspartan08
Haha nice one!
Is he going to travel the country entering Jim Norton lookalike contests? Cuz he could win some. Or at least place 2nd.
Respectable - that is, if it's not just a cover-up for a move to another position...
i bet it has something to do with ubisoft destroying splinter cell.
Well, good luck to him. I loved Far Cry 2 despite its flaws so I'm interested to see what Clint ends up doing next.
too comfortable making boat loads of cash... hope the switch leads to some new games coming out
Uh huh. Yeah. "Too comfortable".
I bet he lost his internet connection and couldn't get back into the building, so he just called it quits.
Good Riddance he already ruined Farcry 2 with malaria now he can go on to ruin some other beloved franchise.I just hope Crytek doesn't hire him we do not need a Crysis game with malaria.
Also, I wish I worked somewhere where I was too comfortable and content. You spoiled little b*tch.
Sounds sketchy...
hopefully he starts his own studio or works for another great studio
Well hes probably rich enough to leave his job and give another job a shot or work at a different studio and not have to worry about failing.
About to write: "Well, there's always Respawn Entertainment!" And then I read the first comment.
Fail man! Fail!
interesting
Maybe Ubisoft's DRM was pissing him off so much, so he was like, "***, I've had it with you people!!!" :-P
But anyways, hopefully he will continue to find success.
What is he talking about?
