The lights are on
Third quarter of fiscal 2010, which ended March 31, was very good to Microsoft and the Xbox division. Microsoft’s Entertainment and Devices Division, which includes Xbox operations, raked in $165 million for Microsoft. Additionally, 40 million Xbox 360s have been sold in the console’s lifespan. Xbox’s $165 million profit is a hefty improvement compared to Q3 2009’s loss of $41 million. So what helped Microsoft this year? Xbox Live is pointed to as the lifeblood behind the profits, along with an increase in Xbox production efficiency.News that more than 40 million 360s are out there is evidence to Microsoft’s success in the console manufacturing business. The PC software company has come a long way since the first dabbling in video games back in 2001. Nice work, Microsoft!

wish I could get a cut of that lol
Is that a picture of one of the alleged sweatshops?
no silly user sweatshops are for kids. jk there bad places
but what country has the most im interesed not just the numbers.
Maybe it has nothing to do with 0.12c/hr payrate those nice looking asian people that are shown on that picture are getting...
Okay Microsoft, you have a lot of money, now I am ready for a phenomenal invention.
Nice to know half of those xbox's will RRoD. JK
15 out of the 40 million 360s are probably people who had to buy news ones because of the 3 RRoD and Micro$oft is too cheap to repair them.
Sad, I'm one of them :(
I know that $10,000 of that profit is from me, well atleast since the original Xbox came out. Anyway congrats microsoft.
@Holyshnikez and anyone else who mentions the rrod that problem has been significantly reduced over the years.
Yea, 40 million is definitely an inflated number, as 3 year RROD warranty has expired for many owners by now so there's no choice but to buy a new one. I had to buy my second one recently. I never thought I'd have to buy a console more than once.
Most people who get the red ring of death use the warranty and get it fixed for free. That obviously doesn't earn Miscrosoft any money. So yeah, that $15 million is NOT from people buying new ones.
That's a cool hat...
I also had to buy a new one ( MW2 edition ) but thats cuz im a bit of a Dick and gave my boy the old one stoped working a month later sorry son : D
Sounds good to me.
not if your warranty is out, I RRoDed 2 weeks after my warenty ended. so yeah, theres a lot of money made from the forced new buys
Heavy Rain is a PS3 exclusive that was originally developed for the move. Most likely Alan Wake and Splinter Cell will have some good usage with it.
this is good. and the RRoD cases have been reduced since the newer model 360 were made which most people may have by now.
well ive already bought 3 xbox's and countless games, just doin my part
Turd Fergy, you know you could have just spent $100 to get the system replaced and get a new warranty put on it right?
