Martha Stewart-Based Video Games On The Way

Wasn’t April Fool’s Day at the beginning of the month? Apparently, this is legit. Majesco Entertainment announced today that it would be partnering with Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia in an effort to start releasing video games based on Stewart’s portfolio of lifestyle content.

"Majesco Entertainment is well respected for bringing consumer-friendly titles to the mass market and has a proven track record of tapping the interests of family and non-traditional video game players," said Stewart. "Women are increasingly engaged in social gaming. We feel confident that this new offering will delight loyal customers who are active in the space while introducing a new generation to the brand."

We don’t know any details about Majesco’s planned projects just yet, but we’re imaging a version of Cooking Mama that features actual recipes and a haunting, soulless smile.

  • the beginning of the end

  • uhhhh.... happy 4/20?

  • lol This is hilarious.  Based on her "lifestyle content".  I guess we might get a little GTA in there and get the opportunity to do a bit of securities fraud and obstruction of justice.  lol Martha Stewart.  As long as GI doesn't review these games I will be happy.

  • *puts barrel of shotgun in mouth*

  • Oh, don't worry, Ben will be handling all of our Martha Stewart-based game reviews.

  • So women gamers have to cook and clean not only in real life, but in gaming???? Weak. Tell me we at least get to choke people witht he martha stewart linen collections xD

  • Hey, let's have a Martha Stewart game that's one half Cooking Mama, one half Prison Break. Basically, in order to escape from tax fraud, you have to figure out some way to poison a guard while on shift as prison cook, which will in turn start a prison riot, and then fight your way out of the prison and go on the lam.

I'd play THAT for a dollar...

    Oh and @Phil Kollar
Don't do that. Stick 'em w/ Bryan. Or better yet, make them both review the games. They're awesome as a duo. (even if they're way off base w/ Armored Core 4)
  • FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

This is honestly a horrible idea. Although Cooking Mama *IS* kinda fun on the Wii.. *shifty eyes*

  • Enemy tactical Martha Stewart-based video game incoming! It's over!
  • Martha Kombat. FLAWLESS RECIPE!!! HOSPITALITY!!! -_-

  • why? is it one people's agenda to release shovelware? "okay this year we are releasing 26 crappy games and 9 good games. feed them too much and they want something else (like rest), feed them enough and they keep coming for more, eventually."

  • Mod

    ...Why???

  • Anyone remember the topless Martha Stewart skit on Saturday Night Live? I still have nightmares...

  • lol that skit on SNL is one of the most disturbing scenes I have ever seen.  I thank you for bringing it up.

  • Quickly, I must have a YouTube link (or equivalent). Nothing on TV scares me anymore...not even Elisabeth Rohm. (zing!)
  • Cue Sideshow Bob shuddering noise

  • Do we get to sell stocks, and then get to decorate jail cells in this game?

  • I work ALL the time and never seem to have enough money! If this game teaches me insider trading and how to just get a slap on the wrist...sure ill give it a shot ;)

  • Does the world really need more Martha Stewart?

  • Nintendo's new leading lady right here
