New Silent Hill Teased At Konami Gamers Night

Many attendees of Konami Gamers Night were already heading upstairs for hands-on demos when they were instructed to return to their seats for "one last surprise." What they saw didn't explain much, outside of the fact that a new Silent Hill is coming.

The brief trailer shows a man wandering around the trademark fog of Silent Hill, being startled by crows and an unknown, snarling menace. It ended with the text "The Silence Ends." No other information was given, so it's up in the air whether this is a sequel or possibly a remake of some sort. We'll keep you updated as we hear more.

Really? I didn't think I'd be seeing a new Silent Hill anytime soon since that last debacle of a game. This is probably on of the few times I would opt for a remake. Seeing either the first or second game redone would be awesome. I hope they can give one of my favorites series justice this time.

Hopefully they can recreate the atmosphere from the first couple in the series... the first was a great game and something very different at the time it came out. I'm somewhat excited about this and will just have to have a wait and see attitude about it.

The last few have been less than good, to put it nicely.

If this is the last game in the series (doubtful) but if so then I hope they go out on a very good note.

I don't really think this Silent Hill will really be the last installment much like they aren't going to end Resident Evil or Metal Gear Solid,unless its been doing -really- bad lately.

Perhaps they might be going back to the Alessa/Heather storyline of SH 0/1/3?

I'm with Reiner on this one. I'd hate to see the series come to an end, but with the quality of Homecoming and the less-than-perfect reception of Shattered Memories, maybe it's about time?
