Gears of War 3 Coming Next April
Those who logged on to Xbox Live this morning got a welcome surprise. According to Xbox Live’s banner ads, Gears of War 3 is being planned for an April 2011 release.
This may seem like a somewhat unceremonious way to announce your title. It’s possible that this Xbox Live ad was planned to release in conjunction with Cliff Blezinski’s appearance on Jimmy Fallon next week, and it just slipped out early. The Gears' icon has since been taken down, but the news is out now, and Gears of War fans can start ticking off the days on their calendar for what is sure to be next year’s blockbuster.
Recently, Edge-online.com reported a bunch of speculation regarding the next Gears of War. Rumor has it that Gears III will feature mech sequences and underwater levels. None of this is official, but it’s an interesting read for Gears nuts who can’t wait for the official announcement.
