The lights are on
Just when we thought we couldn't be more excited for Super Mario Galaxy 2, Nintendo drops a new trailer that shows off a new Mario form – Rock Mario. As evidenced by the video, eating a Rock Mario mushroom transforms the superstar plumber into a solid ball of rock, with a look slightly influenced by the Marvel comic icon the Thing. The trailer also gives us our first look at the game's more traditional map system in action, as well as a 2D level where Mario assumes the form of a ghost.
So far, this is shaping up to be one of the year's most intriguing titles; we can't wait to see what other new gameplay is in store for us in Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Can't wait!
I'm so excited for Mario Galaxy 2 and it still does have a hub-world I found out. You can play on the planet shaped like Mario's head as the hubworld. It doubles as his spaceship.
That music is wonderful.
Rock Mushroom? Sounds painful... that plumber's either got a stomach of steel or he's gonna have some major problems in old age.
Awesome! This looks like a really epic Mario game. Can't wait!
love this game!!!!!
I am so excited for this game. I just wish I hadn't traded my copy of SMG 1 so I could get Uncharted 2. U2 was worth it but I really miss Mario Galaxy now.
Oh my gosh... I really can't wait any longer.
Two awesome trailers in two days (Metroid yesterday, Mario today) - keep it coming Nintendo.
I think I might avoid news topics about this game so I can be fresh when I play it.
I cannot wait for SMG2. My Wii will finally be played on.
looks like it might be better than the first Mario Galaxy.
epic
Looks amazing! Rock Mario, linear gameplay setup, and YOSHI, this game is really going to be something else and I can't wait!
I can't wait to smash through rocks!
Haha! I already have this game pre-ordered! Cannot wait!
I remember Miyamoto saying a couple of months back not expect any new suits in this game. I am pleased that this isn't true. I will now watch the trailer again for the 110th time and try not to drool.
awesome!
Yep, still looks awesome.
Rock Mario...inspired by Marval Superhero The Thing? I Thought it was inspired by Golem the pokemon LOL.... It's a Clobbin Time-ma!
