Mafia II Is Coming August 24, Boxart Revealed

2K Games has finally nailed down a release date for its upcoming crime drama Mafia II. You'll be able to delve into the criminal underworld on August 24, when the game hits PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Mafia II tells the story of a Vito Scaletta, a World War II vet returned home to find his family in trouble. To bail them out, Vito takes up a life of crime, which primarily consists of gunplay and car chases. For a deeper look at the game, check out our latest hands-on preview here.

2K is also giving gamers a sneak peek at the game's boxart, which you can see below in all its glory:

Lastly, no story about Mafia II would be complete with the obligatory gangster-talk. Therefore: say hello to my little friend, offer you can't refuse, are you lookin' at me?, and so forth. With that out of the way, are you planning on picking up Mafia II this summer?

Theres no way I'm commiting $60 to it but I'll definitely watch the reviews. The first Mafia just didn't have enough...zazz for me. I sure wouldn't mind delving deep into the inner workings of the Cosa Nostra properly though.
