Warner Bros’s New Montreal Studio To Focus on Superheroes

Turns out that last year's Batman: Arkham Asylum was a boon for Warner Bros. Interactive. Not only was the game critically acclaimed, but it seems to have pushed its publisher towards change. According to Develop-online.net, Warner Bros. has taken note of this success, and will soon be opening a new studio devoted to making games based on DC Comics' characters.

Many of you probably already know that DC Comics is a subsidiary of Warner Bros., so it’s in the company’s best interest to utilize these (mostly) untapped comic properties. We already know that London-based developer Rocksteady Games is working on the next Batman title, so we bet that this new Montreal studio will start working on a Superman, Wonder Woman, or even a Green Lantern game. Our hope is we’ll see a Marvel: Ultimate Alliance-like game staring DC’s heroes. Justice League Heroes was okay, but we think it can be done better.

  • It would be great if they could do a Marvel Ultimate Alliance game for DC.  Now would be the best time since the last Marvel UA really was nowhere near as good as anythinng Raven did with the series.

  • and......There needs to be a LOBO game....he was Kratos before Kratos was Kratos!!!!!!

  • Yes... A DC version of Marvel UA would be awesome...

  • Sweet, I love comics so I hope this is good. I did like Justice Leage Heroes, but it was not as good as Ultimate Alliance so I hope this is great.

  • @soupmania

Lobo is a bad-ass! I would totally play that game.

  • Could we possibly get a Green Lantern game that isn't based on the upcoming movie? And a good Superman game?
"DC Ultimate Alliance" would be good too.
  • But isn't SUPERMAN 64 the best Superman game ever? I mean, in what other game you get to fight a Tornado for a Final Boss??

Rocksteady should make the Superman game.

  • Well, as long as Rocksteady keeps pumping out the hits, all will be ok...

  • An ultimate alliance game DC style would be pretty sweet

  • this is good news, bring us some gold!!!!! also LOBO is great  haha what about Guy gardner! ginger to the max

  • Lets hope they do it as Good as Arkham Asylum, these games will have no point if they suck.

  • they did a ultimate alliance type thing for dc it was called justice league it came out before the 360 did and it wasnt that good.It actually came out the same time as the first ultimate alliance did.

  • I think it would be really cool to access Captain Marvel's universe. Could you imagine that? you could switch out from billy to the Captain like War does into his chaos form. That could be such a great game.

  • Always more of a Marvel guy than a DC guy. But I'll keep one eye on developments over here. Just because I have always had a soft spot for at least Batman, Aquaman, and Lobo.

  • So long as they are on par with arkham asylum I have no problems.

  • I would love to see them take DC to a whole different level than Marvel UA

  • Maybe they can make a new, cool version of that Flash game that never got finished.

  • Nice, but Rocksteady is already working on the only DC character I care about... Batman.

  • Seeing as they really took interest in how Arkham Asylum was done, I think that they'll probably work on a game with another extremely well-known superhero, just focusing on them and the villains. My guess is either Spiderman or Superman.

  • This would be sweet if it was for Marvel, not DC. Quick some gaming company hop on the Marvel superhero bandwagon!
