Final Fight: Double Impact Brawling Onto PSN, XBLA

by Tim Turi on Mar 18, 2010 at 10:28 AM

Did you hear that classic Capcom characters Guy and Cody will be entering the fray of Super Street Fighter IV? You don’t know who Guy and Cody are, you say? Come this April, Capcom is making sure that everyone with access to the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade has a chance to catch up on their history in the 1989 arcade beat ‘em up, along with another arcade gem.

Final Fight: Double Impact features the original Final Fight and Magic Sword. In Final Fight, a crime syndicate called Mad Gear kidnaps the mayor of Metro City’s daughter. Unfortunately for Mad Gear, the mayor is muscle-bound, 279 pound, 6'6" foot tall ex-pro wrestler named Mike Haggar. Not only that, but he has the help of his daughter’s beefy boyfriend, Cody, and his Ninja-pal, Guy.

Magic Sword takes gamers on a quest as “The Brave One,” a hero tasked with purging evil from a mystical tower. On his quest to kill the dark lord Drokmar, he’ll encounter eight allies who lend their unique skills to battle. If you need a break from hitting thugs over the head with a pipe in Final Fight, why swap it out for a blade in Magic Sword?

The deal gets better. You’re able to either play the game so it’s stretched to your TV's size, or play them with their original arcade cabinet borders. With the classic arcade view on the screen even has the effect of old arcade monitors. Pretty cool for retro fans!

The double pack of Capcom arcade goodness hits XBLA on April 14 for 800 MS Points, and PSN on April 15 for $9.99.
