Final Fantasy XIII Artbook Lands On iPhone

I use my iPhone for practically everything (even gauging how I sleep), but I never thought I would use it to view artwork. After downloading Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIII: Larger-Than-Life Gallery to my iPhone, which just released today for a shocking $8.99, I probably won't use it for art again.

The Larger-Than-Life Gallery only offers 24 images, and many are of the characters against white backdrops. Zooming in on the images works to a point, but when I tried to frame a character's face in the iPhone's screen, I often ran into pixelization. The images are too small to bring out the fine details in crystal clear clarity. You can assign the images to a calendar that can only be viewed in this application (meaning it takes two clicks to view it), or take a snapshot to save the image to your iPhone's photo gallery and make it your wallpaper.

Since this application weighs in at a hefty 53.4 MB, you'll have to be connected to Wi-Fi or iTunes to download it. If you heed my advice, steer clear of doing so until it plummets in price, unless you really need new wallpaper.

  • wow, not bad i might get this cuz the game is really awesome except for barthandelus cuz hes really tough to beat (ok ik random)

  • thats way too much money

  • Looks like a great idea! Not too sure if I'll pick it up as $60 is enough to spend on FFXIII, but I nonetheless appreciate the promotion here

  • Hmmmmm.... it sounds nice, but i think i'll pass for now.

  • sounds awesome, but  a price like that is just ridiculous

  • final fantasy has amazing art.

  • Haha... I feel you Reiner. I actually considered buying that Sleep Cycle Alarm Clock. I was discussing with some friends whether or not it works. Do you think it does? Anyway I use my iPhone for about everything but 9 dollars for a virtual artbook is highway robbery.

  • Wow

  • really...?

  • Why didnt you just google FFXIII wallpapers?

  • boooooo now where is the windows 7 phone

  • I'd rather wait until the real artbook comes out.  This seems like a complete waste of money.

  • Good for them I guess.
