Heavy Rain May Not Have A Sequel After All

by Ben Reeves on Mar 12, 2010 at 08:53 AM

Heavy Rain has been reviewing and selling well, which is impressive for a completely new IP. However, that doesn’t mean we can expect to see a sequel. In fact, Heavy Rain creator, David Cage, has already said he’s not interested in making another Heavy Rain.

In an interview with Giantbomb.com, Cage said, “I’m done with this story and these characters, and that's why there won't be a sequel." This seems a little bit at odds with the ending of the game itself, which hints at a possible sequel. Maybe indirect sequels don’t count to Cage.

Regardless, in that same interview Cage also goes on to say that he wants to surprise people with his next game, continue exploring emotional gameplay, and possibly include some kind of multiplayer component. Sounds crazy; we can’t wait to hear more about that project.
