The lights are on
LucasArts is ready to revisit the swashbuckling adventures of Guybrush Threepwood with a completely retooled version of Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge. Following last year's release of the Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, Monkey Island 2 updates everything from the graphics to the score, adding a hint system and full voiceover work along the way. The sequel goes one step further, allowing players to take direct control of young Mr. Threepwood, if they don't feel like pointing and/or clicking.
If you never played the original game, LeChuck's Revenge follows Threepwood as he sets sail to find the legendary Big Whoop treasure. As the title suggests, LeChuck isn't going down without a fight, even though he's technically dead and all. The game is coming out on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and iPhone. PC and PlayStation 3 players will soon be able to check out the first special edition, too, in the meantime.

sounds like something Disney Interactive would come up with
Nice. I played the remake of the first one back in November and I thought it was fun. The humor made it better than any point-and-click adventure I had ever played in the past. I'd never heard of the Monkey Island until this past year, when Tim Schafer became a household name in the gaming world, with all the news about Brutal Legend.
The Curse of Monkey Island was actually the first pc game I ever played and I loved it. I still have the original game discs too. Now I get to play the two previous installments with new graphics and voice overs...WOOT!
I'd probably have to say LeChuck's Revenge was the best of the series, at least it was my favorite. I can't wait to play the new version!
This pleases me.
It's nice to see LucasArts remaking some of their old games... perhaps in the future other games like KotOR will get face lifts.
If they brought back Zack McCracken & Maniac Mansion I would be very happy about that :)
Guybrush looks WAY cooler in this than in the first remake. Anyone else with me?
I am SO excited for this release! LeChuck's Revenge is my favorite out of all the Monkey Island games and I was so excited to hear rumours of this. Glad it's more than just that!
I will definitely be buying this. And probably getting all the achievements like I did for the first one ;D
Good, now I can take a look at this since it's coming to the PS3.
Yes, loved the first remake and have never played the original ones, so I'm looking forward to this game
Awesome!
Sweet!
I loved the updated Secret.
