Prince Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands In Action

The Prince is at it again, and this time he's returning to his platforming roots. In The Forgotten Sands, you'll be able to freeze waterfalls for wall-jumping, battle up to 50 enemies, and engage in all the classic PoP action from the original trilogy. Don't take my word for it, though, check out the trailer below.

Are you excited that The Forgotten Sands returns to the original trilogy's formula, or did you prefer the Nolan North-voiced Prince from the 2008 title?

  • Thank god they are returning to the roots of prince of persia the last game really blowed and was extremely repetitive. Don't mean to offend the guys at Ubisoft but you wasted your money on Prince of Persia (2008)

  • The game looks really good thus far. I'm hoping that they sharpen up the graphics a bit, though.

I wasn't really enticed with the gameplay until the showed off the elemental powers.

  • So excited.  Loved the first three.  This should be awesome.

  • The Sands of Time trilogy was better in my opinion, but the 2008 game was really interesting visually. I really hated the final boss though. Soooo lame...

  • Looks pretty cool. I haven't played the other ones will this matter?

  • THE ORIGINAL TRILOGY of course.  The first Prince of Persia on the PS2 was my favorite out of the bunch!  I liked 2008's version, but felt it was way too easy to beat since you couldn't die.  I also didn't like reducing the combat to just one opponent, so the next installment looks pretty freakin' fun!

  • Back to the roots! Nice. The art style in the last one was very impressive but the gameplay sucked. Oh and the controls sucked - you feel like a button pushing monkey. No challenge what-so-ever. Why doesn't the prince look like Jake G now?? haha

Nah, you didn't have to play the others first since the new istallment will integrate the movie's storyline.  The old ones are worth picking up and playin' though.  I liked all of the Prince of Persias, but I'm only one guy.  A bunch of folks thought it was boring after a day or so.

  • this is gonna be epic big Prince of Persia fan

  • Well i'm convinced, looks like it could be really good.

  • I'm biased since I've only played the 2008 version but I from what I see here I think I could easily enjoy it.  What I did notice though is the change in visual style which might be something that I'll miss from the 2008 version.

  • Not bad! I dunno if I'll get it whenever it comes out, but I'm sure I'll give it a shot at some point, especially if the time powers are expanded upon even more. Freezing the water and using it for platforming was an awesome idea. XD

  • I really liked 2008 PoP, overall. All things considered I'd rather see it continued over a return to a trilogy that already basically finished. As long as I'm wishing, I wish there wasn't a PoP movie happening. Oh well. Hope they haven't given up on 2008, it's definitely got potential.

  • i can't wait for this game, i love the PoP games!

  • I'm glad they got back to the roots of the game I was never a big fan of the new one.

  • I like that they're bringing back the series, I was a bit turned off when they introduced the elements. But I'm glad their still keeping the good old flavor of the Arabian Nights.

  • So excited this is greatnews indeed!

  • Looks Awesome!

  • @ Antman1120

The game does not actually follow the movie. The game takes place between The Sands of Time and The Warrior Within.

  • I'd consider it for PS3 (platformers are one genre I like better on console than PC). But not until Ubi drops their tyrannical PC DRM.

    Solidarity!!
