The lights are on
The strange worlds of Suda 51 may be coming to your nearest downloadable platform. Game developer and Grasshopper Manufacture CEO Goichi Suda, better known to audiences as Suda51, has declared an interest in exploring both Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network as venues for one or more upcoming games, according to a post at Develop. The article states that Suda has expressed the desire to work on both downloadable add-ons to games and standalone downloadable titles. Either platform could be a strong option for the eclectic developer. Titles like Killer7 and No More Heroes have at times struggled to find an audience with their unusual gameplay and experimental story components. Short-form downloadable games have the potential to introduce Suda's unique brand of game design to a broad spectrum of gamers, without the commitment of buying into a full-fledged retail title. Would you be open to a downloadable game from the folks at Grasshopper?

1000% would download
Choosing to develop games for PS3 and XBOX 360 as downloadable titles makes sense since they've on developed games for the Wii so far which cost less than what others pay to develop full games on other two platforms. It's really interesting to see what they decide to do with their games. No More Heroes-style games using Natal and Arc or whatever it's called seems intriguing (not for me, though).
If they're unsure of their ability to hold up in retail then downloadable gaming may be their best option
i wolud love this even though i have a wii i would like if my brother gave a shot on these (he hates motion controls)
suda 51 is great hope his work comes to xbla
I would pay full price for any Suda51 game. There as soooo much fun and off the wall. Since the Wii came out I gotta go play No More Heros at my friends place. I'd like to have some Suda games on my PS3.
I love Suda 51 games. I like their strange and unusual gameplay and just over all design. It brings something different to the table than just another cloned game
Hellsyeah! Hope it doesn't take long though.
Would be awesome for sure.
I know about No More Heroes, but I'm not sure how it's played with the wiimote atm. Wonder if it would be possible if No More Heroes were to be able to be played with Sony's and Microsoft's new "interactive" technology (Natal and I forgot the name of Sony's peripheral). Would definitely but it though, with or without that kind of support.
I'd definitely check them out if any of his games came over to PSN, so hopefully we'll hear an official announcement soon.
Aw hellz ya!!!
Suda always makes such strange games. Knowing him, he'll probably make an XBLA game starring a small animated cube of meat who must save his girlfriend Band-Aid Girl from the evil Dr. Fetus.
oh...wait
no, they scare me.
I'd welcome these ports with open arms, as long as they upgrade it with HD graphics. I would love to play NMH without a *** Wiimote.
Seems to weird for my likings, but at least others will enjoy it.
Okay very bizarre
I would. I enjoy Suda51's work quite a bit. His games all fall in the category of "strange, yet enjoyable", and I imagine he could do a lot on XBL or PSN. When it comes to downloadable games, the biggest hits seem to be the ones that are quirky or unusual; this is right up Suda's alley.
I would like to try it out so i guess yes i would
