The lights are on
Metroid fans eager to slip back into the Varia Suit of Samus Aran have something to look forward this summer. Nintendo announced today that the latest Wii entry in the Metroid saga will be hitting June 27.

i have a bad feeling about this game.
this is another game that looks amazing. im really looking forward to it. i loved the prime games, and this looks amazing as well. also, Team Ninja does make some high quality games, so im not worried. it may be going in a new direction, but i expect Other M to keep up the same old trend of high quality Metroid games.
I can only hope this is good. Guess I'll have to dust off the old Wii around July. God knows all it's doing right now it creating a creepy blue glow in my room when I'm trying to sleep.
Both Nintendo games are coming sooner than I expected.

Team Ninja + Metroid sounds like a kick ass combination. i never liked metroid since it FPS appearance (prime series), but this TPS and FPS combination team ninja its working on looks awesome.
We just recently got a Wii, so I love that I can get excited about this now!!

I really hope this game is as good as it looks. I didn't expect it so soon. I might just have to crank up the old Wii here soon.

Wow the first half of the year is packed. I've already bought Bayonetta, Mass Effect 2 and Heavy Rain. Now I need to get FFXIII, God of War 3, Alan Wake, Lego Harry Potter (I'm addicted to all the Lego games), Super Mario Galaxy 2 and now this. I generally stick with one game a month and now I'm booked up through September.
Now Gamespot is reporting June 27th on their liveblog as well as Joystiq. Just to clarify is it June or July?
I wish I had love left for Nintendo as this is one franchise that I feel has not been iterated to death as much as the only other three games they make all the time for every system they manufacture.
As Chris pointed out, everywhere else I look reports the release date June 27 instead of July.
