Xbox Live Arcade Gets Super Meaty

In an email to MTV Multiplayer, co-creator Edmund McMillen sent an image (pictured above) that seems to confirm that Super Meat Boy is headed for Xbox Live Arcade in 2010.

The game, which was recently nominated for the Seamus McNally Grand Prize at the upcoming Independent Games Festival, had previously been announced as a WiiWare and PC title. The comedic, violent 2D platformer centers on a small cube of meat who must save his girlfriend, who happens to be made of bandages (and why not?).

The game aims to bring back the challenging, exacting platforming of days gone by, boasting a difficulty curve that runs from “hard to soul crushing.”
While there is no word on a specific release date, this is definitely good news for XBLA fans, who should get acquainted with Mr. Meat Boy with this gameplay video:
