Valve Considering PS3 Development?

by Adam Biessener on Feb 19, 2010 at 09:50 AM

Valve Software boss Gabe Newell's disdain for Sony's console is well-documented, but that may not be the final word in the relationship between Valve and the PS3. Comments made by Left 4 Dead writer Chet Faliszek give credence to the notion that PS3 development isn't off the table for the beloved company.

"Before we do anything on the PS3 we need to be able to support it in the right way," Faliszek told Edge Online. "But we’ll look at it, and I’m sure down the road we’ll do it."

This is a far cry from a game announcement, of course, but PS3 owners can cling to some hope that they'll someday get a chance to play Valve's excellent games without branching out onto other platforms. The next release from the company, Left 4 Dead 2 DLC pack The Passing, is exclusive to PC and Xbox 360 just like all Valve products to date.

Any PS3 owners out there looking to get their hands on some Half-Life, Portal, or Left 4 Dead goodness? Keep your fingers crossed.
