Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 Bundle On The Way

UPDATE: The special Final Fantasy XIII edition bundle for the Xbox 360 has been confirmed at Microsoft's X10 event, and we've got all the details.

As rumored via the leaked ad below, the new 360 will launch at $399.99 on March 9, the same date as Final Fantasy XIII arrives in stores. It will be bundled with two controllers, a copy of FF XIII, special Avatar items, and a 250GB hard drive, the biggest available for the 360 thus far.

If you already own a 360 but still want to show a bit of the Final Fantasy spirit, Microsoft is also offering a limited edition FF XIII faceplate created by Square-Enix designer Tetsuya Nomura. Check out the image of that below.

ORIGINAL STORY: Square Enix's long overdue RPG may be hitting store shelves in myriad ways. Digging around on Microsoft's Expertzone retail training website, NeoGAF reader Jmoe316 uncovered the picture above. Those of you with eagle-like vision will quickly notice that the console pictured is plain white (nothing special about that at all). To add even more suspicion to its validity, the description says the console is black. Since this is just a retail training site, the images are likely placeholder. Could it be fake? Most certainly. But before you stare upon it with shifty eyes, I can say that I have heard rumors of two bundles coming to 360 this year. The first being Final Fantasy XIII. The second? Splinter Cell: Conviction.

Calls and emails have been sent to both Square Enix and Microsoft to try and confirm this machine's validity.

  • WOW! That looks amazing! I want another Xbox360

  • I'd almost do that for the extra controller and huge HD. I only just purchased my 360 when Circuit City died in Milwaukee last January, but it was 60% off.

  • Cool bundle, but they should've done something interesting with the console itself and changed the color, or at least threw in the black elite.

  • That does look cool, if it's accurate. If I didn't already have a 360 I would definitely go for this one.

  • not worth it, now if playstation did the same then their sales would go through the ceiling

  • @BSween2709

yea playstation did do and it looks so nice but it's only for euro or japan or both. Which f'ing suxs cuz i kill for it ughhhh. if the did something different to this 360 it be cool too.

  • I've considered buying a 360 and would like to take advantage of this if it's true except I definitely don't have the $$$ for it... besides, I'd rather get the game for my PS3 anyway.

  • This is bull. The game is released for the xbox 360 when it was oringally meant to be a ps3 exclusive and now the game releases with this piece of crap console. I hope all of these rrod before the disc is even put in.

  • Wow my friend is going to *** in his pants when he finds out this is available

  • I'm gonna have to say the PS3 bundle is a sexier piece of hardware.  That thing makes me wanna buy it for display purposes only xD

  • if its true, i would  buy it. My bf needs a 360 and i'm willing to buy it for me and give him my old one jajajaja. no i would never change my xbox... but i do like the 250 hard drive!!!

  • Are all of the discs going to fit in the box?

  • Its amazing how "Anti-Gamers" spew forth hate on anything remotely 360 when they think it is taking away from the PS3. I thought we were all gamers first, Company fan boys second? We all love to game, don't hate, appreciate!

  • it looks like a photoshop there are a few errors like the gun's hand she is holding on the box is cut

  • Awesome deal if it is true and you do not already own a 360. Other than that, FF13 is a day one pickup.

  • Too bad that FFXIII is only meant to be played on a PS3 console. :( I do believe this is a fake ad.

  • That's quite the sweet bundle.  Whether or not its real, its a good idea.

  • I guess they have to find a way to sell those RROD units that they have repaired...

  • I believe this is totally possible. I personally think it's a waste of their (Microsofts) time, this game is going to sell more on the Playstation either way. They have the game on their system, just leave it at that. If anyone is buying a system for a Final Fantasy game, its going to be a Playstation. I know people with 360s waiting to spend money on the PS3 when Final Fantasy comes out. Plus the PS3 version is supposedly "superior". It's really just stupid from a business standpoint, JRPGs just don't do well on the 360 end of story. This is no fanboy rant, I just seriously question their motives. GTA4 was a great idea. Final Fantasy not so much.

  • Aww the dying cries of the Ps3 Elitist fanboys sounds good

(anyone who claimed the Ps3 as amazing because this game was only on one disc for Ps3 as opposed to multiple for Xbox)
