The lights are on
Were you impressed with the dialogue and characters of Fallout 3 that made the post-apocalyptic world feel genuine? Did you hear about Fallout New Vegas? Well it turns out the latest game in the series is going to have even wittier writing and more memorable characters.
CVG's sister magazine PSM3 got an exclusive look at the new game and a chat with New Vegas’ lead producer, Larry Liberty. "We want real, memorable characters. I think it helps you to remember parts of the world you'd otherwise forget," said Liberty.Developer Obsidian is reported by PSM3 as apparently being more confident developers than the Fallout 3 team. They also praised the game's funnier and more clever script, and “more distinct” characters. You can look forward to meeting the denizens of New Vegas in Fall 2010.Any big fans of Fallout 3 having trouble imagining how much improvement could come to the game’s universe? Or do you think there’s plenty of room for improvement?

I mean how can you improve fallout 3 but if they say they got it i believe in them
Maybe more meaningful character interaction...Omg I can't wait for this game.
There's always room for improvement. Especially if that improvement is a few more wittier moments. The few witty moments in the first one were part of my favorite parts of the game.
Improve it all! I loved the game but more memorable characters, moments, situations, dialogue and environments are all welcome! When someone says "we hope we made the right improvements" I don't want one or two I want to see you really FIX the problems not eliminate (something Bioware needs to try, though not saying it was exactly a bad thing)
I thought the game was great, watching my bro play 12 hours straight. Game could improve on some of the new stuff like the VATS System and weapons but other then that I don't know.
Maybe some dialogue but I wonder how they are going to make it even better? Hm guess we'll have to wait and see.
Actually GOOD character animation?! In Fallout 3 it was atrocious!
The dark humor and unique characters are definitely one of the biggest draws for Fallout 3 for me. The idea that they are making a conscious effort to maximize this quality is excellent news indeed.
I like donkey's. First
no ps3 version
@ russianmule ur a ***
@ r10 how can u say tht fallout 3 looked great!!!
cant wait for this
@the story teller
They are releasing a PS3 version, sometimes GI doesn't put up the PS3 version on games mentioned for multiplatform games.
The only problems I had with the characters were that they didn't show enough emotion and it bugged me a little bit when it was the same voice actors for some 10-50 characters. The characters just need to have more emotion when they're speaking, for example: If someone's terified, angry, or sad, show that in their voice and by their actions/movements. Also if they're not using that many voice actors like Fallout 3 did, they could at least try to show difference in their voice for different characters. That way, each character won't ever feel like the same person you just met a few minutes ago.
I'm soo excited for this game - I spent more time with Fallout 3 than any other game I've played. Of course they can improve on some of the dialogue; as good as it was, I felt that many characters were nothing special and it'll be nice to have a little bit more humor.
PS for people who are saying there won't be a ps3 (@the story teller) you need to seriously check your facts. It annoys the crap out of me when ignorant people start stupid rumors. THERE WILL BE A PS3 VERSION!
omgggg i can not wait for new vegas
Fallout 3 was incredible, nonetheless theres always room improvement. I think a touch of humor in a wasteland is a good thing. I look forward to playing this and hopefully getting a few more laughs out of this one than its predecessor.
hope they make each character sound different. I constantly run into characters with the SAME EXACT voice as other characters and it takes away some of the games realism
I played Fallout 3 a few times at my friends house, and each time I was impressed by the game world size and depth of character. When I completed the Power of Atom quest, I realized that this was more than a game. Cant wait for New Vegas.
All I need is a new enviroment, and to have Bloody Mess return, and I'm good... haha, good memories.
This doesn't surprise me. Obsidian made the superb KOTOR 2, which had a story rivaling the first. Will definitely pick this one up.
i cannot wait for the game
most likely not, but what if that dude that robot is diggin out (or burying) is the hero from fallout 3. huh, huh? maybe he/she travelled there in search of something and now the new hero is his/her cousin, nephew, longlost brother or son or daughter or somethin. maybe.
