Conduit Developer Goes Multiplatform

Conduit developer High Voltage made waves when it tried to bring first-person shooter action to the Wii, but now the developer is broadening its horizons with its new game The Grinder.

The developer talked to IGN about the first-person shooter, and revealed that the title is now coming for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC when it hits retail shelves on Halloween 2011. Because it's still early in the game's development cycle, High Voltage hasn't fleshed out exactly how the other platforms may or may not be different from the Wii version.

The Conduit was High Voltage's attempt at bringing the Wii a first-person shooter on par with the kind of genre experience available on the other more high-powered systems. Although the game only sold 350,000 copies according to the developer (check out our review here), High Voltage says it's proud of their efforts.

  • Not really looking forward to this.

  • Hopefully High Voltage has learned from some of its past mistakes and will take steps in correcting them.  The Conduit was a big disappointment to me, especially since seeing the amount of potential it had.  If HV realizes that potential, they can make an excellent game, I'm sure of it.

  • Love the artwork and the name, its giving me a Serious Sam/Painkiller vibe. I'm stoked. I mean come on, its called The Grinder...

  • awesome i wish all wii devlopers would try to make games on a real console.

  • gonna need to know more b4 i get to excited

  • I think House of the dead and resident evil chronicles series are the only good horror shooters on the wii

  • Just as Vote 4 Pedro said, I hope High Voltage learns from experience, cause this actually has potential, at least judging merely from the image.

  • oooo!!! spooky... lol. Not my kind of game.

  • thats a long way off

  • Awesome Picture!!!

  • Didn't they have another game coming up for the Wii?

  • One side of me is going out on whim here hoping this game (on Wii) won't completly suck and that it'll be at least passable on the other systems. The other part of me just hopes it'll be good.

  • HMMH

  • Aha; the name has me sold actually.  I'll admit to being that shallow on certain bits, and they touched one of those soft spots with that title.

  • Hmmm, another potentially awesome game?

  • So it's still coming out to the Wii?

  • yes a shooter for 360
