The lights are on
Rockstar Games is known for its ambitious projects, and L.A. Noire proves that the company’s reputation is safe. While the rumblings about the game have been heard for years, our world exclusive cover story is the only place you’ll be able to get concrete information on the gritty crime epic. Over the course of our 10-page feature we look at the game’s astonishing reconstruction of 1947 Los Angeles and learn how the team took on such a massive undertaking. We also talk to the team to see L.A. Noire’s groundbreaking facial-animation system in action, and learn how it might change the way we look at games from now on.
Some of the other features in our March issue include a look at the status of some of our favorite old franchises, previews of some of the Independent Games Festival nominees, and a guide for parents interested in parental controls. We also grill Platinum Games’ director Hideki Kamiya on Bayonetta, dig into the legal battle over Duke Nukem, and check out some of the hottest tech around. If you’ve been wondering why Polyphony Digital seems to operate without deadlines, Sony’s head of internal development, Shuhei Yoshida, explains why the company cuts the Gran Turismo 5 developer so much slack.
Sequels to Mass Effect, BioShock, and Battlefield: Bad Company get reviewed in the March issue of Game Informer Magazine, along with Dante’s Inferno, Aliens vs. Predator and many more.
Subscribers will be getting the March issue soon, and it will be hitting newsstands shortly afterward.

Looks pretty EPIC. At least more-so than that Epic Mickey coverstory. I'd like to see you guys review a more hardcore Wii game [Last Story, Metroid: Other M or New Zelda when word comes out of them], instead of something...Mickey-Style Epic.
March...already. I'm still caught up in all of the Halo: Reach coverage. Not sure I'm ready for March yet. *sigh*
I liked January and February cover better
So Baby Face Nelson is the lead character in this game? Look at that mug! If he pulls a pacifier out of his pocket...
Oh no! It's not a full spread across the back and front!
But, that's OK. The back is the same scene from a different angle, so it's cool.
Kinda like 24's awesome mutli-angle shots. I love that show.
I Think the cover art works the way it is. Just because it doesn't go front to back doesn't mean they are lazy. It fits the style better imo, gives it more of a crime scene look to it. The front cover gives you one side and the back cover gives you the opposite look of what you see on the front if that makes sense lol.
oh boy another awesome game that I have to add to my already super long list lol
Hmm...sounds kind of like the old Police Quest 3...for those gaming long enough to remember it. I'll never forget that loony guy in the park. I forgot my nightstick in my locker so when he rushed me, the only thing I had was my gun. Oh well...you get the picture. This game has potential...who doesn't like a good murder mystery.
Awesome. Just finished GTAIV, can't wait to see what Rockstar can make up now.
Bioshock 2 FTW!!!
That is a pretty striking cover there GI, nice :)
I am really hoping that BioShock 2 scores high in the review, atleast a 9.25 or something, I REALLY want that game to do well.
looks pretty sick.cant wait 4 the AVP reveiw
Not a true wraparound cover, but good looking nonetheless.
@ big daddy clone
It kinda is a wraparound cover , but instead of opening it to view it you keep it shut and look at the same scene from the front or the back . Pretty cool if you ask me , don't really care if ya don't though cuz I'ma diggin it , me thinks this is a day one buy .
Oh yay! I didn't comment this first! Aren't I cool now?!?! It's about time they've surfaced some detail about this game. It's only been on the Rockstar Games site for the past 2 or 3 years? Maybe 4?
I hope Rockstar takes on more undertakings!
Honestly, the art seems a little weird to me. Proportions are strange. That said, I'm absurdly excited for this game. I can't wait to live out my Maltese Falcon / L.A. Confidential fantasies. I was worried the game had disappeared.
Time to resubscribe...
Looks like another Mafia game to me
I can't wait to read this issue.Iv'e never heard of L.A Noire but it looks really cool when I think of a Detective story I can't help but hope there is some kind of phoenix wright-esque interrogation system.
Also the interview with Hideki Kamiya is gonna be great, this issue is gonna be great.
Rockstar and gangsters? What a departure! Ha! Just bustin'. Looks great.
