The lights are on
Bethesda has revealed scant details about the next installment in the Fallout series, called Fallout: New Vegas. We know it's being developed by Obsidian Entertainment, a studio built by many of the minds behind the original game. Aside from assuming that it's set in, well, New Vegas, speculation has reigned supreme. That has changed a bit this morning. Bethesda has announced a rough release window for the game: Fall 2010. It's set to release on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, though further details are still tough to come by.
In the meantime, check out the first trailer from the game. It features many of the elements from the series, such as campy music offsetting a bleak setting, ruined landscapes and "War never changes." There's also a quick glimpse at a sinister figure surveying what seems to be a remarkably intact Las Vegas. Interesting stuff...

this will be sick, you know it will be sick, dont deny the fact that it will be sick
When are we going to see a FONV feature in the magazine? The last couple of months, I have been waiting for it. I even got a cruel tease with the vault boy graphic in the opinion article in #203.
Put out another trailer! That one is too short!
It would be so tight if you could import your character from Fallout 3.
Like your karma, stats and perks.
Of course with the option to start off brand new if you would like.
I am looking forward to some "vault-dweller" references in NV!
I love Fallout, but is anyone worried that there is a fully functional city in the game? Doesn't that go against the meaning of Fallout?
This looks a lot like the pitt (fallout 3). A moderatly functional post-apocolyptic city. There are supposedly fighting including Caeser's Legion (slavers) and I assume the New Californian Republic. Any other opinions?
The NCR and CL are present. There's stupid and intelligent types of Super Mutants. There's an M4 and hardcore mode...
What the *** else do you want?! Buy it!
I bet 1 bazillion dollars that BioWare will also make a Fallout game.
They have some pretty big shoes to fill after Fallout 3- hope they can do it!
(SPOILER FALLOUT 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)to beat fallout 3 go to the jefferson memorial listen to the holotapes you find in a weird lookin room and go to smith casey's garage flip a switch to go into vault 112 where you find your dad and then it gets really easy to beat from there on out
Awesome. :3 another game i will buy
it is coming also ps3 :)
I cant wait to play the hardcore mode on hard difficulty every minute should be a struggle shounds like fun to me
Great announcement.I'm excited for this one. This game will rock.
