The lights are on
UPDATE: Sony has responded in regards to the PSP Go relaunch rumor, stating that the speculation is "nothing but that."
ORIGINAL STORY: Rumors have been budding up regarding a relaunch of Sony’s PSPgo. The digital-only handheld was welcomed with very little fanfare when it launched last October, and sources are reporting that Sony wants a do-over.Gamervision reports that this mulligan is due to hit very soon, and that a larger marketing campaign will be championing the attempt to claim glory (and sales). If this hearsay ends up being true, hopefully a price reduction would be part of Sony’s new deal.
We've contacted Sony for comment, and we'll be sure to bring you any new developments on this rumor. If the PSPgo relaunched $50 cheaper, would you give it another look? Can’t remember what the doo-hickey is all about? Check out our video review.

I know it's got a bad reputation, but I can't hide my love for my PSPGo. It's ok new kid, you can sit next to me during lunch.
When they make the go w/a built in UMD, they'll have a winner. THEN I'll be interested.
Hopefully it comes with umd compatibility.
I couldn't imagine the buyer's remorse i would feel after getting a PSP GO. I do need a new PSP, though. My analog stick actually broke. It was like it always wanted my character to move left, and then one day it just broke off. That's what i get for buying a used PSP.
it should be at least be able to check my blood pressure and current weight in kgs
PSP was a failure. PSPgo was a catastrophy. Make what people want, and your *** will sell well. Isn't that the most basic of economic concepts?
i like to have a physical collection of games, so no
How badly does the PSPgo need to perform for Sony to accept that they released a dud. Are they so obsessed with digital that they would rather put out the machine that they want instead of the machine consumers want? You know, the one with 2 analog sticks/nubs. Wasn't that one of the most common complaints leveled at the PSP? It was for me. I can get a used PS3 for cheaper than a new PSPgo. As a long time Sony customer it's frustrating.
The PSP Go! is like the iPad. The internet gave a collective "Meh." when it was revealed. A re-release wouldn't help that.
I wish sony would release an attachment or something that lets you play your old UMDs. If they made that I would consider getting one.
If it were an entirely new system, like say, the PSP 2, then yeah. Then it wouldn't matter if i were download only because all the games would be new. I think that Sony has the right idea; downloads are the future. Setting this trend in the middle of a system's life was the bad idea. Wait until the next system when it is all new content. Then add a second analog, HD, and the ability for more content and features, and then I'll buy your PSP "GO" (yes, I am aware of the difficult task of 2 analogs on a handheld. It would probably be very difficult to not drop, but a redesign should fix that right up.
