Lost Planet 2 Toys Stomping Their Way Into Mech Lovers' Hearts

After looking at the image above, if your first thought was, "stupid, high fantasy garbage," stop reading this story, and watch the video below. I'm not trying to convince you that mechs will soon be our primary means of transportation (which they will be by 2015), or that robots will be the harbinger of our doom (spring 2018); I just wanted you to walk away from this story with a smile on your face rather than a scowl. Consider this your digital rainbow for the day.

If you are interested in Lost Planet 2, and found the image above to be mad sexy, read on and drool as much as you want. Capcom and toy manufacturer, Kotobukiya, are teaming up to bring four detailed toys to store shelves this May (hopefully in time for the game's May 18 release date). The figures stand in between five and six inches in height, and all four offer at least 20 points of articulation. All four also carry a SRP of $39.99. Here's hoping Kotobukiya will follow this series up with a second line dedicated exclusively to the Akrid! A special thanks goes out to GI reader, Tom Swanson, for the news tip!

  • The toys look great, I just wish I could say the same for the games

  • Looks pretty cool, I'd get one if I had money to waste.

  • Awww, who doesn't love a humanoid, destructive mech?  Toys are great.

Wow, I'm still not sure I care about the game, but these are awesome

  • This is obviously a scam.  Where's the glowing orange spots!?

Actually, they don't look half bad.  Maybe my little brother will mistake them for Transformers and grab 'em.

  • That dancin' robo-feller is downright snazzy!

  • Pretty rad looking figures. Love the break dancing robot too XD

  • I want a robot that dances like that!

  • weird robot. didn't do much moves

  • toys toys toys!!!!!

  • Holy crap! Those are awesome! I want them! And I want Lost Planet 2! Killing gigantic bugs is a ton of fun.

  • These toys remind me of my past these with the cool ones. They pawn the Transformers ones and no doubt about it I want one!

  • gotta get my hands on these toys

  • i would actually buy these. i think that a lot more games need to try to release toys or action figures.

  • BREAK! DANCING! ROBOT! TOY! Breakdancingrobottoy!

Soooooooo siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick! $1000? I don't think Toyota will miss a few of my car payments; I'll probably die from a stuck gas pedal anyway. But I'll be buried with my BREAK! DANCING! ROBOT! TOY! Breakdancingrobottoy! and I'll get the Pixies to play Monkey Gone to Heaven at my funeral and everybody gets a goodie bag of Smarties, roast beef, and Batman stickers.

  • WAIT ONE SECOND! Where are the glowing orange weak points hhhhhhhhmmmmm

  • the games are sweet

  • Staff

    I'll be grabbing the Hardballer.

  • something about humanoid robots is awesome

  • Looks really cool, but I'm not sure I want to use my valuable money on a toy based on a game that might fail...
