EA: Mass Effect 2 Sells Two Million In Four Days

Space-ladies and astro-gentleman, we have the first triple-A blockbuster of 2010. BioWare’s Mass Effect 2 has sold a massive two million units in its short run since Tuesday. Not only has the game sold successfully, but EA reports that it has received 40 perfect review scores.

Electronic Art's press release also reminds us that Mass Effect 2’s 360 version currently holds an average review score of 96 on Metacritic, which we previously reported makes it the second highest rated 360 game ever.

“Mass Effect 2 is poised to be one of the biggest games of 2010, said BioWare group general manager Dr. Ray Muzyka. “We could not be more proud of the game’s universal acclaim and early commercial success.”

In addition to our glowing review of Mass Effect 2, everyone in the office appears to be absolutely floored by the game. Congratulations, BioWare, you earned it!

Not surprising at all. There was a crap-load of media hype and marketing for it. Plus, it's a ridiculously good game. I think about the game every 10 mins or so at work...no game has made me do that besides COD4 and Oblivion.

Then all is right with the world. Games like this should sell 2 million copies in four days. They could have called it Massterpiece Effect 2.

Awesome! It is easily one of the best games I have ever played. Those who haven't bought this game yet, please do. It is one of the best gaming experiences you will ever have.

It's well deserved, the game looks great. And while I was a bit uncomfortable with some of the changes to the basic architecture of the game, they've certainly grown on me.

Bioware knocks it out of the park once more.

Ugh, CaNdLE_LiGHT, you still said "first"...lame. Anyway, this game absolutely deserves this. I actually enjoy it more than Grand Theft Auto, but that is only my opinion.

Well done, BioWare. ME2 is one of the few big sellers that actually DESERVES every single sale. Gamers have shown that they may have good taste after all!
