Climax Wants To Return To Silent Hill

by Tim Turi on Jan 27, 2010 at 05:09 AM

Last December, Harry Mason's visit to Silent Hill was reimagined with Silent Hill: Shattered memories. It appears that Mr. Mason’s return to the haunted town has inspired developer Climax, as they have stated interest in returning to the Konami’s signature horror franchise.

During a chat with Official Nintendo Magazine, Shattered Memories lead designer Sam Barlow said, “We've always loved working on the series. Since Origins we've spent a lot of time with the series. For us we felt we've put our stamp on the series with Shattered Memories so we'd love the opportunity to do another one.”

Pleased with the direction that their latest title is bringing the series, game director Mark Simmons said "I think this is the first Silent Hill since one or two where people are saying it has its own identity and people are responding to it really well so it would be great to take that further."

Despite my dissatisfaction with Silent Hill: Shattered Memories for the Wii, I definitely noticed all the innovative ideas and potential it had. I’m interested in seeing what else this developer has in mind for Konami’s aging horror series.
