The lights are on
Hey, you liked Bayonetta didn’t you? Of course you did, with its sexy witches, insane action, multifaceted serpents and other epic bosses, what was there not to like? In that case, you might be interested in this little tidbit: In a recent interview for the March issue of Game Informer, Platinum Games director Hideki Kamiya teased what the company might be working on next.
According to Kamiya, “We obviously have love for the work we have created, so I don’t see anything wrong with Bayonetta 2. Personally, I’d like to approach the world of Bayonetta from a different angle, in the form of a spin-off.” Perhaps a game starring Jeanne? Could be cool. Then again maybe the game could star one of those flying baby heads that Bayonetta had to shoot out of the sky. We wouldn’t put it passed those guys.
For more from Kamiya about Bayonetta be sure to check out our Afterwords section in the March issue of the magazine where he answers questions from the fans about Bayonetta's character design, what her name means, and where all that hair came from.
Anyone else excited over the possibility of a sequel for this game? Would you want a spinoff, or would you rather see Bayonetta return to the limelight?

I would love a sequel, but I hope the plot makes more sense.
When I saw Bayonetta 2 I almost had a heart attack. I WANT IT NOW!!!
I would rather have Viewtiful Joe 3. Now that would be awesome.
Yes, I'd love Bayonetta 2! I just got done with Bayonetta a week ago, so this is awesome news!! I'd love a co-op option if Bayonetta 2 becomes a reality. I mean, come on; how coll would it be to tackle an absoulutely insane boss with a buddy, or execute co-op torture attacks?
I would LOVE a sequel to Bayonetta (my favorite game of all time, along with MGS 4, DMC 4, Darksiders, & the Team ICO games). I think a prequel would be cool with a setting during the ancient era. Some sort of spin-off would also be very interesting (a game based on Rodin!) I like how Bayonetta is a spiritual successor to DMC, which is more interesting than actual sequels. I also would love to see a brand new title from Team Little Angels. Anything they make will put all other developers to shame (except for Kojima Pro & Team ICO)...
As long as they don't mess up the PS3 porting this time, I'm all for it
Haven't even played the first one...yet. Still waiting on a used one to get in so I can just check it out. Heard that it isn't too long and has no replay value.
Everything was perfect in Bayonetta except the story...
For the sequel or spin off they should just update the graphics a little, make even MORE moves and fatalities, and focus on the sory more.
i havnt even finished the first one yet. slow down peoplez.
Sweet, i'd play the sequel
I thought I remember in article in GI with Kamiya saying he wanted to make a children's game next.
Could this be "Bayonetta: The Toddler Years"?
Maybe in the sequel they could tell me what the hell was going on in the first game.
I log in 37 hours into the game by far and it going up.... playing less MW2 because of this game...
i want to play as Rodin, my fav character of them game beside Bay....
Cant say that I played the first one. Or that I ever will. Got Mass Effect 2. Then Bioshock 2. Then Heavy Rain. Then God Of War 3. I mean is there even a chance.
I'd be down, Charlie Brown.
**spoilers**
I think maybe a prequel where you play as father balder on the lumen side of things during the 500 years of history previous to the bayonetta story would be sweet. Or, since the history of bayonetta is controlled by who has the right and left eyes, the sequel could star father balder or another star lumen in an alternate plane of reality. Bayonetta could be the antagonist and you would fight demons and witches. Or, maybe they could do something that follows chapters of the supporting characters. Each one would have a different type of gameplay... I just wouldn't want it to get too gimmicky.
i always get nervous about sequels/spinoffs that come out so soon after the previous title, from my experience they only change cosmetics, not always but often this is true. that is just my one fear of such quick returns to a franchise they dont really feel like a new experience just pretty much the same as last time
