Nintendo Details Pokémon Preorder Bonus

Last week we confirmed that Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver will be shipping with a Pokéwalker accessory when the game launches at retail in March. It appears that another item is being thrown into the pot as incentive to pick up the title. Fans who preorder either version by February 1 will snag a Legendary Pokémon figure by Kaiyodo. Those who opt for HeartGold will receive a figure of Ho-Oh, and the bonus for SoulSilver will be one of Lugia – both cover models for their respective versions of the game.

“These unique figures are our way of thanking Pokémon fans of all ages for the enthusiasm and support they have shown for the series,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions include new features and enhancements that players will instantly appreciate, and we think these terrific figures will help to get fans even more excited about what is in store for them on March 14.”

The premium bonuses will be available while supplies last, so we don’t recommend waiting weeks to pick up your prize once it hits retail.

***. I wasn't going to buy this game, mostly because I have the originals. But if there's one thing Nintendo is good at it's using nostalgia to sell games. Now with the added sculpture I'll probably end up buying one if not both versions of the game.

This is a nice add-on for people who are thinking of pre-ordering this game. They look nice, abet small, but also very nicely detailed.

I remember buying a Gameboy Color just for Pokémon Silver. Now I bought a DSi for Pokémon SoulSilver. Since I preordered my copy back in October I am glad to hear about all these new incentives.

Both the figurines look ridiculously cheap :P .. But, I've never owned a Pokemon game, but I do see the appeal. If I were to jump into a recent iteration of Pokemon, which in the series should I check out?

Well, even as old as I am, I still remember getting my first copy of pokemon from my cousins. I got hooked, and right after I got my came boy color, I used my christmas money to buy the original Silver version. It was the first game I ever bought by myself, so I have a lot of memories behind that. Now that I have money that I earned, this buy is a no-brainer. Plus, I always thought that Silver and gold where the best overall versions. lol

I loved the original Silver and Gold games. I'll definately be picking up SoulSilver. Lugia is one of my favorite pokemon. I dont know if i'll be preordering right now though. money is tight at the moment

too bad both my ds lite and original ds died. sorry nintendo but i expect better quality from you. after all these problems with ds and having to replace psp after psp its safe to assume im off of handhelds for now on.
