Expect More Rare Remakes After Perfect Dark

by Tim Turi on Jan 19, 2010 at 06:43 AM

Fans of GoldenEye and Banjo Kazooie creator, Rare, have something to look forward to. There is more coming from the company in terms of Xbox Live Arcade games after Perfect Dark hits.

Rare told CVG that there are “no shortage of possibilities” for classic games to remake for XBLA after Perfect Dark hits. Just to be clear, the remake of Joanna Dark’s first adventure is currently being “polished” by 4J Studios. That’s the closest you’re going to get for a release date for now.

"Perfect Dark will be arriving on Xbox Live Arcade in the next few months, polished up by 4J Studios with improved textures and framerate, Leaderboards and Achievements, and of course online multiplayer,” Rare’s studio head, Mark Betteridge, told CVG.

"We know there are a lot of people looking forward to that. There's nothing to announce yet after Perfect Dark, but we've got over 25 years of IP to dip into so there's no shortage of possibilities."

With GoldenEye being tied up with legal issues, and Donkey Kong Country being so closely tied to Nintendo, we can't help but wonder what other games Rare is referring to. Killer Instinct? Grabbed by the Ghoulies?
