The lights are on
It's Monday, and that means it's time for your 7-day downloadable game forecast. It's hard to know exactly where to start with Muscle March, the new WiiWare game from Namco Bandai. So let's be as clear as possible. Muscle March is a game about over-pumped bodybuilders chasing down thieves that have stolen the newest and best protein powder in town. To catch them, these musclebound lifters (and a polar bear) will frantically run through stages, striking poses as they march to fit through tiny wall holes. Oh, and it can be played with up to four players in turn-based multiplayer modes. 500 Wii Points ($5) will have you marching to the beat of this decidedly different drummer.
Xbox Live Arcade has two new products arriving on Wednesday. Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment should set old school strategy players' hearts aflutter, as it's the prequel to the original classic game. This new downloadable title stars young orphan Tobias Martin and an ever-growing cast of friends as they defend their homeland from attack. 1200 Microsoft points ($15) will net you 8-10 hours of strategy/RPG action.
Death by Cube is the newest downloadable title from Square Enix, and it's also arriving on XBLA this week for 800 points ($10). The multi-directional shooter stars a robot named Leo as he blows up enemy robots filled with bright red oil. That's right - oil, not blood. Huh. Anyway, the game includes multiple playable characters, and several eight player competitive team modes. There's also a cool twist on the normal gameplay mechanic, as players are able to absorb incoming bullets and unleash them back on enemies to attack.
Quite the variety this week. Think you'll be trying any of these?

I think body builders seems like a fun game. However the game with blood looks awesome!
Nothing I'm interested in this week.
In Death by Cube, if you can absorb bullets and fire them back, I assume it is a temporary thing that cannot be used all the time? because that would be way too easy.
i doubt i will try them
Muscle March pretty much scares the lving daylights out of me.
And Death by Cube the red oil really looks like blood. If I haven't read the text I would have thought the game would be one of those games with cute and cuddly characters, a bright color pallet, and a funny story that's backed up with gore and violence....like fat Princess or the cheapo Fairytale Fights.
Hmm. I think I'll pass on these. They just don't grab my attention enough.
Muscle March looks kinda psychotic in a charming way, can't really tell what the gameplay is going to be like, but it looks pretty funny. Death By Cube looks, well, bloody. Anyway it sounds like it has some potential, but I don't know that it's got what it takes to beat out Geometry Wars (1 or 2) in the directional shooter game.
Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment...Mmm, My love affair with old's cool games is never over thanks to dlc on XBL,PSN, and WVC thank you all! I lost my original VH and this is a dream come true, aside from a download of the 1st VH.
15 bucks for an 8-10 hour RPG? Well I suppose its not as bad as spending 60 bucks on an 8-10 hour RPG...
vandal hearts looks good, also that muscle march looks hilarious
Man, nobody has a sense of humor! As soon as I saw the pic for Muscle, I lauged my ass off. Can't anyone see the beauty here?
Man... I saw some of those Muscle March vids a while back, and they were disturbing.
But at $5, I may have to get it, just to freak out my friends.
The Japanese trailer is much better.
oh god, muscle march looks a bit odd.
Vandal Hearts looks great. The originals haven't aged well and we haven't seen too many strategy rpgs for this gen of home consoles so this is a welcome addition
Vandal Hearts was definitely one of my favorite games for PSone. Hopefully this updated version won't disappoint.
I dont think I'll try out any of these...i could not keep a straight face watching those stuffed body builders..even as a woman gamer its just to funny!!!
