Be A Hero With Bungie, Aid Haiti Relief Operations
PopCap gave all proceeds from purchases made on their site yesterday to a Haiti relief organization in a generous single-day event. In case you missed it, Bungie is offering another solution for gamers looking to help.
Bungie is currently offering a special edition of their Superintendent tee. If you purchase this shirt at the Bungie Store, 100 percent of proceeds will go to the American Red Cross. In addition to the shirt, all proceeds from Bungie apparel and accessories purchased on their site through the end of February will also go straight to the Red Cross.
If you're tight on cash, there is one other way to help. All you have to do is play Halo 3 or ODST online Wednesday or Thursday while sporting a special emblem. For every thousand "heroes" that participate, Bungie will make a $100 donation to the Red Cross. Bungie will donate up to a maximum of $77,000, but they need your help to get there.
Here's what you need to do:
1. Round up all of your friends and hop online with Halo 3 or ODST any time next from 00:01AM PST Wednesday, 1/20, through 23:59PM PST Thursday 1/21.
2. Edit your appearance settings so your character is wearing the RED HEART emblem.
- Press START
- Select “SETTINGS” / “APPEARANCE”
- Select “EMBLEM”
- Select “Hearts” ICON, “Circle” BACKGROUND
- Back out to the APPEARANCES menu and select “COLORS”
- Set “EMBLEM PRIMARY” to RED (or MAROON / BRICK / ROSE depending on which game you’re playing!)
- Set “EMBLEM SECONDARY” to WHITE
3. Once your emblem is set, play! This can be a custom game or a matchmaking game, just make sure it’s played online, on Xbox LIVE, or Bungie will be unable track it.
If you keep playing more games through midnight on Thursday, KEEP THE HEART EMBLEM ENABLED or you may not get counted.
