Hey, I think they deserve every penny they have. Even for those that didnt like the game as much as they thought they would, they still bought it, so IW still gets the bank.

this game deserves everything it gets.  It's a great game and if they continue the good work by following it up with some DLC content it will be an everlasting challenge.  Thank You Activision for providing us gamers with nothing but the highest quality of video gaming.

It might stall for a little bit, but I thin once the DLCs hit the market, the money tally will continue

That final push from Christmas is probably what set it over the billion dollar mark.  Very impressive numbers especially considering these numbers are from initial purchases.  Unlike an MMO which can accumulate numbers through subscription fees, massing a billion dollars profit in less than a year is an incredible feat.  It is great to see some of the side projects that have spurred from this games success as well.  I think another article mentioned the CODE project.  

A game that gives back to the community will always get my money.

According to Yahtzee Croshaw, every organic lifeform on the face of the earth now owns about 2.7 copies of this game. Yes, I expect it to keep selling strong...

hell, i just hope this doesn't mean they crank out another cookie cutter campaign. don't get me wrong, the set pieces were great. just too many recycled scenarios. maybe a new dev will bring a fresh direction.

I'm not surprised, the game is great. Also, they have 4 map pack in DLC for $10. So, there is probably even more money coming in now.

Not one of the greatest games of all time but it's certainly had a large social impact. EVERYONE knows about Call of Duty, pity most of those people don't know anything about OTHER (better?) games. Nonetheless, the market has spoken, Infinity Ward deserves the praise.

They deserve every cent!  It's a great game and thy did an excellent job with the ad campaign.  I look forward to MW3!

i can see it reaching 1.5 billion pretty soon.  this just goes to show that vidia games are just as big a media as film.  the days of videa games just being geeky kids and childs paly things are no more.  

I DON'T OWN A COPY! I don't want it. The FPS market has become over-saturated and I got bored playing CODMW2 within an hour. Maybe when they release the Game of the Year Edition, which they will, I will pick it up.

this game will probably still keep selling until everyones uncle has it. IW deserves this, definitely, but Kotick deserves nothing. he can go rot for all i care.

Its not going to keep posting such high numbers. Nearly everyone has a copy now.
