Ace Combat Joint Assault Landing On PSP

by Tim Turi on Jan 12, 2010 at 07:08 AM

The second PSP entry in the Ace Combat flight-combat series has been revealed today. Ace Combat Joint Assault will take flyboys and flygirls (no, not the "In Living Color" dancers) across San Francisco, London, Tokyo, and other locales.

Joint Assault incorporates a new A.I. system that alters the course of missions on the fly based on the pilot’s choices. This PSP sequel also has an improved sense of speed, upgraded graphics, and a more refined dogfighting system.

You can team up with three friends to waste enemy craft in the game’s cooperative campaign mode, which comes with an interesting twist. Two teams of two split off to complete parallel objectives on independent maps, with each objective completed having a direct impact on the other squad. Players with a more competitive edge can engage in cutthroat eight-player free-for-all, which is purely about knocking other birds out of the sky.

No word on a release date yet, but we’ll be sure to update you as details surface. Be sure to check out all the screenshots in the media gallery below.

Did anybody play the first PSP Ace Combat game, Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception? What did you think?
