Microsoft's Natal Confirmed For Holiday 2010 Release

by Phil Kollar on Jan 06, 2010 at 04:45 PM

One of the biggest surprises of last year's E3 was Project Natal, Microsoft's new motion and voice control add-on for the Xbox 360 that looks to take the revolution Nintendo started with the Wii to new heights. Tonight at their CES keynote, Microsoft confirmed rumors that we'll be able to find out for ourselves just how revolutionary Natal is before the end of the year.

Although they withheld any details on the pricing or new games that will support the hardware, Microsoft revealed that Natal will be available for purchase during the holiday 2010 time frame. Microsoft asserted that this will help make 2010 "the biggest year in Xbox history."

Joining Natal in making it such a stand-out year, Microsoft touted a string of exclusive releases including Crackdown 2, Alan Wake, and Halo: Reach. They also confirmed Fable III as a planned 2010 title as well.

Obviously we still have a lot to learn about Microsoft's ambitious new device, but knowing what we do so far, are you planning to pick up Natal later this year?
