Dragon Age Expansion Rumored For March

Although the first downloadable content for Dragon Age: Origins since the game's release won't be out until next week, rumors are already spreading about an upcoming retail expansions for BioWare's gigantic RPG.

According to a post on Czech site Eurogamer.cz (via Blue's News), a retail expansion for Dragon Age, titled Dragon Age: The Awakening, was briefly listed on an online retailer before being pulled. The report states that the expansion is planned for a March 2010 release and will include a continuation of the game's epic story, a raised level cap, and around 15 hours of gameplay to complete the main story.

Obviously, this is a rumor several times removed from its original source, so it's best to take it with a grain of salt for now. However, if the expansion is real and is really coming in March, we can probably expect an announcement from EA sometime soon.

For the Dragon Age fans in the audience, would you be interested in playing a significant retail expansion of the game? Or would you prefer the additional content stick to smaller add-ons in downloadable form?

  • any excuse to continue playing this game is good enough for me.

  • I want more Dragon Age and I want it now! And big!

  • Expansion would be nicer, I do like the small add-ons, but they don't add enough to the main story. A focus on the aftermath would be great.

  • Of course there's more. There is always more. There is always another expansion. Stupid me lol. Going to wait a year untill they calm down before playing this again.

  • all depends on price for me, plus with mass effect and bioshock coming who has the time?

  • I've been waiting to pick this up till I upgrade my PC here in the coming months; from what I have seen of this game I am assuming I will be game for an expansion.  Expansion is highly preferred to DLC.

  • as long as its under 20 bucks and isnt just an oversized dlc i will buy it

  • Awesome yet horrifying. I cannot fit a DA expansion into thi year's lineup!!!

  • I hope it's true. I can't get enough of this game.

  • SCORE!

  • This game has been a revolution!

  • wOOt! i always wanted to know what happened afterwards

  • I agree with the101st........ Anything that gives me an excuse to keep playing is alright by me..... I'm gunna go play now!

  • I love retail expansions because I can use them easier than DLC.

  • COME TO MAC ***

  • If it's good enough I'll play it,

  • Cool. My Dad will love this! Too bad we don't have live D=

  • I love this game my only problem will be waiting this long for the expansion

  • Dlc for sure

Theres too many good things coming out that I cant afford a big expansion

Just take it slow and steady

  • Significant expansion, yes please. It gives more opportunities to complete the more difficult to achieve trophies. Though I would be surprised to see how they would expand it. Would it go further on into the future? Because the ending you get for beating it at the moment is pretty decisive. For those that know the ending they know what I'm talking about and why, no matter what ending you get, it would become rather difficult to continuing adventuring afterwards.
