The lights are on
Jesse Divnich, director of analyst services for Electronic Entertainment Design and Research (EEDAR), believes we may see a glimpse of a new Grand Theft Auto title at E3 in June.
Speaking to Game Informer, Divnich made a big prediction as to what we may see at the industry trade show in June. "I think we’re going to hear about another Grand Theft Auto. I think there won’t be any playable stuff. I think they’ll give you some type of teaser, because we do think that a year from then in 2011 we’re going to see another Grand Theft Auto."
We asked Divnich about whether Sony or Microsoft would try and nab some sort of exclusive rights to the newest GTA, but he thought that those days were over. "I don't foresee Microsoft or Sony attempting to obtain any type of exclusivity with the next Grand Theft Auto. Microsoft paid a lot of money for exclusivity on the downloadable content for GTA IV, which unfortunately did little to move consoles for Microsoft. Back in 2004, the Grand Theft Auto was a huge brand, but only relative to the other brands that existed at the time. While the GTA brand is certainly bigger now than it was five years ago, others have emerged to reach similar levels of success, such as Call of Duty or Guitar Hero. In other words, if Sony gets an exclusive deal on GTA V, it would do little to disrupt Microsoft's ability to move hardware, and vice versa."

a new gta cool
cant wait
It would be nice to customize your own character. So long as it doesn't look as terrible as the the customizable characters from Saints Row.
I felt the story of GTA dragged on and on and on....I enjoyed TLAD much more than the storyline of GTA4, haven't playeg BOGT yet....Another GTA will be more of the same most likely....
In this one you will have the ability to buy game consoles.
In this one,you will have the ability to buy and play game consoles.
Seriously what is so bad about GTA? I must be missing something because its one of my favorite series second to half life.
GTA has always been fun, and somehow seems to completely avoid one of gamings natural laws of success (Its not the only one): If the controls suck ass the game sucks ass. If you don't mind the horrible game mechanic controls all the better, but I can't stand them. After that many GTAs you would think it would have become alot better, but naw, why fix it if it works only half way? Yeah thats right, I'm hating up on gtas control scheme, (,,,\_ (O,,,;)_/,,,) (Thats a Jon monster btw..)
Awesome A New GTA Would love to see a GTA where you can fully customize your car and buy different houses and customize them sort of like a cross reference of the sims meets the need for speed tuners. where you can pimp everything and buy business and pimp them out and stuff and have like a place where you can own like some type of factory or something and you make top notch cars or what not and way better missions involving just bout every thing in game from the character to your businesses and stuff..
What is the deal with people wanting a custom character in GTA?
GTA has always been a story driven game, therefore it will never happen. If you want a custom character, then you never liked GTA to begin with.
not interested. i'm excited for red dead redemption!
what im wondering is about that character in that shot. white man hands with a black man face. what kind of hardcore killer wears gloves?
wow, too much GTA for me... GTA and Left 4 Dead are turning into sports games, crank one out every year.
Yessir
Idc about GTA atm unless they reveal where its taking place.
Treyarch will announce a new COD taking place sometime after WWII. maybe Vietnam?
Quite frankly new GTA excites me, i started with GTA 3 and lost interest in San Andreas too big with too little to do in between the cities, while the parachute and plane controls and boats were nice it was just too effing big, not enough direction...
GTAIV was smaller in land mass but way more focused, it's fine to run around and do whatever you want but when doing whatever you want doesn't amount to more than riding a bike listening to free bird it's just not fun..
Just from that screenshot I WILL BUY IT!
I wasn't too exited about this news. Unless Rockstar decides to put in something that makes your decisions have more of an impact in the world and gives us the amount of weapons SA had = more, I'll be saying no.
@ clerk5150
That's a picture from The Ballad of gay Tony. can't you tell that its in Liberty City? Rockstar already said they have to thin k of a place to hold the next game, so why would there be a screenshot so soon? If it was the new one, then the Jesse Divnich wouldn't have predicted a teaser of some sort at E3 2010!!
