The lights are on
Ubisoft has released more details about the Assassin’s Creed II DLC that will be made available early next year. Each of the two downloads includes a new memory sequence containing a number of individual missions.
The first, Sequence 12: Battle for Forli, will be ready for download at the end of January for $3.99 on the PlayStation 3, which works out to about 320 Microsoft Points. The sequence gives Ezio the chance to team up with Niccolo Machiavelli and Caterina Sforza as they fight to defend Forli from the Orsi Brothers in a series of six new memories. Along the way, players will have to perform a rescue and work to prevent the Templars from acquiring the Piece of Eden. Leonardo appears to have perfected his flying machine, too, since Ezio will be able to use it to travel across Romagna in daylight without the hassle of lighting torches in advance.
Sequence 13: Bonfire of the Vanities will be available in late February for $4.99, or about 400 Microsoft Points. Once again, Ezio will get to pal around with Machiavelli. This time, however, they’re working to free Florence from mad monk Savonarola, who is controlling a number of important citizens. Most interestingly this DLC adds the spring-jump, a new move in Ezio’s free-running arsenal.
Each download is supposed to weigh in at a hefty 1 GB. We haven’t heard from Ubisoft if the DLC will add any new uPlay functionality, either with new ways to earn points or things to unlock, but we’ll let you know if we do hear anything interesting.

this is good news all around. nothing like some cheap DLC (everything seems to be at least 10 bucks or more these days). guess i should get back to collecting those feathers.
Those are definitely lower prices than I expected. Very nice.
These screenshots are priceless. The facial expression are just hilarious.
"Oh no! I've but cut in the butt!"
Awesome. I can't wait for the DLC coming out.
Nick is easily amused.
I am pretty excited. I wish they would roll this out sooner since I finished the f*** out of the game a few weeks ago, but regardless, it's a good way to extend the experience.
Awesome...more use of the flying machine. The large file size is a bit of an issue though.
This is excellent, more content will be a godsend, only bad part of the game was it was so good I couldn't put it down and finished it in a week!
thankfully i have a 250GB HDD so i don't need to worry about space. this is great i cannot wait to play this!
Any word on whether these DLC packs will add additional Trophies/Achievements? Yes, yes, I know I'm an Achievement *** ;)
*gasp* just 5 dollars...new...*huff* *puff* i want it now
Nice change from the usual 10 bucks option you see. Kudos Ubisoft
Nice on the content and the cost. A gig each tho? Time to finally upgrade my hard drive.
I cant wait for the downloadable content!!
Glad that it looks like lots of content for your money, but I can't help but think that some sompanies DLC is just stuff that they cutout only to charge you later for it.
Dragon Age had some on day of release, admittedly if you got it new you got most of that but not all. How long is it before we see GTA released with two islands and you have to buy the third at a later date.
I don't mind DLC that has been made specifically as DLC, like GTA IV's stuff, but sometimes I think we're being shaken upside down for all our change by the big boys.
This will be an instant buy for me...
Great news! These are the type of DLC I will gladly fork some cash over for!
And that pic needs a caption contest! Lol... Wart removal was horrid during antiquity!
Classic example of was this just not finished at time of release (I always prefer to have a "fixed" game than "broken" one), or just a way to make $10? I like it's cheap, you don't see that much, and it will extend gameplay so it's hard to complain. At least it's not like Resident Evil 5 multiplayer add-on, where it's already on the disk and you pay to unlock it.
I really don't see a point to DLC for this game. As an adventure game, a very well done adventure game, I was satisfied with my first play through. Plus on top of that, being the kind of game it is (one with little to none replay value) I got my copy through Gamefly, played it, and already sent it back. Due to the economy, buying a game that I'm not really going to play again warrants renting it through Gamefly. So I personally think DLC for this game is pointless.
Can't wait for this DLC and love the pricing. Has anyone heard if the "exclusive" Templar crypts are going to be released as DLC too? I'd like to be able to get 100% synchronization in the game and can only do so with those exclusive secret areas.
