Teaser Trailer Released For Unnamed Arkham Asylum Sequel

In unsurprising yet still exciting news, the hugely successful Batman: Arkham Asylum will be receiving a sequel. A teaser trailer has been released on the follow-up's official website, featuring a weathered and worn Joker laughing maniacally at the exploding streets of Gotham. No real info or gameplay footage is seen, however it's obvious that Joker will be joined by Harley Quinn, and it appears that the setting is Gotham City proper.

Considering that the website URL is "Arkham has moved" and the trailer shows an Arkham Asylum gate within Gotham, it'll be interesting to see exactly how this all came to be. Was the original island too overrun with Ivy's plants that it had to be shut down? Was the entire facility destroyed enough to warrant bringing the asylum to the city? It may be a while before we find out, considering that the game has no release date or even an official title, but it's intriguing nonetheless.

UPDATE: Eagle-eyed user Treestump has pointed out in the comments that the Uncle Sam figure that appears on the website is almost certainly Two-Face. Take a look at the evidence below.

The hand holding the gun is clearly scarred, and you can even see a bit of his face below the poster's rip.

Awesome! I'm going to play the first one in the next few weeks. My friend is going to let me borrow it. I was really set on buying and playing Metroid Prime Trilogy when this came out. I had never played any of the Prime games before and I couldn't pass up the $50.00 price tag. Plus, who knew that they would FINALLY get a Batman game right?!? HAHA! I can't wait to play it and I'm sure I'll be even more excited about the sequel when I'm done with the first one.

OK just want to make this point. It doesn't appear the next game will take place in AA. It looks like the Joker will be taking over an amusement park. He's done stuff like that in the comics before to. Anyway Batman AA was my second favourite game this year. If not for Uncharted 2 I would have voted this GOTY. Extremely pumped for the second game. Day one buy Rocksteady.

Still have yet to sit down with the first one, but the demo was promising. I'll have to see how it unfolds before i make any comments, other than, thanks for finally making a superhero game i actually WANT to play haha.

I just hope RockSteady takes their time and not rush it out. I wouldn't mind waiting until early 2011 if it meant another amazing game.

Also, on the website, you can tell it's Two-Face on the board. Just look at the hands.

This teaser scares me. I hope Warner isn't pushing Rocksteady to keep the Arkham Asylum name. Just call it Gotham City. Get rid of the Asylum angle.
