Tron: Evolution Announced

by Matthew Kato on Dec 14, 2009 at 09:15 AM

Disney Interactive Studios' and developer Propaganda Games (2008's Turok) have announced that they are working on Tron: Evolution to come out in conjunction with Tron: Legacy next holiday season, and here are the first screens and trailer for the game.

There aren't any gameplay details regarding Evolution just yet, but judging by the trailer, you can expect plenty of disc throwing and light cycle riding. The movie Tron: Legacy features the return of Jeff Bridges as Flynn as his son tracks down the disappearance of his father. Going by the trailer, it looks like Tron: Evolution will take place before the events of the movie, but we don't know the game's story just yet.

Previously Propaganda had revived the Turok series with a decent offering, so they should have no trouble handling the Tron source material. The studio is similarly handling a Pirates of the Caribbean title for Disney. The Last Tron title, Tron 2.0 was put out by an entirely different publisher and developer.

Tron: Evolution will appear on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Check out the trailer below.
