Left 4 Dead 2 Survivors Meet Original Foursome In New DLC

by Tim Turi on Dec 14, 2009 at 07:45 AM

While so many were busy boycotting the release of L4D2, I was left mourning the departure of the original survivors. I wanted to know what happened to Zoey, Francis, Bill, and Louis. According to Valve, they went South.

Valve announced the first Left 4 Dead 2 add-on DLC today, entitled “The Passing.” This brand new campaign is set in rural Georgia, and has all eight Left 4 Dead characters meeting in what Valve’s VP Doug Lombardi calls “the most important campaign in the Left 4 Dead story.”

The original Pittsburgh survivors aren’t the only new additions, as new Scavenge, Versus, and Survival mode arenas are being added with the DLC. You can also expect to take down a brand new “uncommon common” zombie (i.e. clown zombie) with some new weaponry. Cross your fingers for some kind of impaling weapon!

“The Passing” is set for release in early spring, with pricing details being nailed down closer its release.

One thing is for sure, I’d really like to play as Bill again. Regardless, I’m ecstatic that we’re going to be able to see all eight “immunes” slaughter some infected while standing shoulder-to-shoulder. Would an eight-player co-op mode be too much to ask for for the holidays?
