Mass Effect 2 Boasts A Stellar Voice Cast

Electronic Arts and BioWare today announced the voice cast for the upcoming RPG Mass Effect 2, a roster that includes Martin Sheen, Michael Dorn and Carrie-Anne Moss. Seth Green and Keith David returns to voice Joker and Admiral David Anderson. Sheen plays the Illusive Man, a character in charge of the paramilitary group Cerberus, with Yvonne Stahovski as the genetically enhanced operative Miranda Lawson. Carrie-Anne Moss plays crime lord Aria T’Loak, Michael Hogan is Captain Bailey, Shohreh Aghdashloo plays Admiral Shala'Raan vas Tonbay; Adam Baldwin is Kal ‘Reegar; and Michael Dorn plays Gatatog Uvenk.

“Emotionally engaging narrative is a key design pillar for BioWare, and the top-notch voice talent in Mass Effect 2 helps drive this goal,” said Ray Muzyka, co-founder of BioWare and Group General Manager of the RPG/MMO Group of EA. “Credible, powerful personalities are vital to delivering a compelling story experience in BioWare’s games, and we have assembled an amazing ensemble cast that surpasses the very high bar set in the original Mass Effect!”

The game is set for a January 29 release on Xbox 360 and PC.

  • Nice timing on this announcement, following reports of conflicts between actors unions and the gaming community, and a rousing GIO discussion about voice talent and pay scale.

Quality in = quality out.  BioWare knows this, has led the pack for years, and it shows in their finished product and pays off in their sales figures.  Kudos to them.

  • Can't wait for this game!

  • Martin Sheen!  This is sooooo impressive.  My excitement level just jumped times 10.

  • Just when I thought I couldn't get anymore excited for this game..

Does Keith David have to be in every game ever?

  • blah blah blah

  • GOTY?  You haven't even played it yet.  And David's voice is so distinct, yet I can't help but think of Requiem for a Dream whenever the Arbiter speaks, which makes me super uncomfortable.

  • Yippee!

  • Hmmm. They just need to throw in Zachary Levi. Then things would make more sense.

  • Mannn, why couldn't they put that much talent and time into Dragon Age?

  • Geez, Martin Sheen, Yvonne Stahovski, Adam Baldwin, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Seth Green?  I wouldn't even need to see this.   Hearing it would be an amazing experience...even if it would be a bit harder to play.

  • I wish this would come out for the PS3...

  • This is awesome news. I've been waiting for this game to come out for yearss. Glad to see Seth Green is still a voice in the game. Was a good addition to the first Mass Effect

  • Alright then, awesome

  • More and more great surprises come our way, thanks!

  • Very Impressive for the cast. Now they just need the game to match it.
