Tim Schafer Plans Brütal Legend Single-Player DLC

In a recent interview, Tim Schafer detailed his thoughts on his grand metal opus, Brütal Legend, speaking about playing the game online post-release, how the dialogue was scripted, and what went into choosing songs for the soundtrack.

"We definitely want to do more DLC for both single-player and multiplayer, as well as some tuning patches," said Shafer.

Though details remain non-existent, he also declared his desire to not only release additional multiplayer DLC, but also new single-player content. You can read the full interview by GamePro here.

  • At least he still believes in his own games.

  • And hopefully, Brutal Legend will hit sleeper hit status, so he can work on his next project.

  • Can't wait for whatever he has planned to drop for consoles.

  • I'd be happy with some single player DLC...I tried to enjoy this game on multiplayer, I really did...But the Stage Battles are not enjoyable to me.

  • too bad i already traded this game in.  couldn't stand the RTS segments.  killed the whole game for me.

  • Would totally be up for some more single-player.

  • YES! SINGLE PLAYER DLC!

  • After seeing some of these comments about the stage battles, it makes me second guess whether or not I want to buy this game ad therefore whether the DLC from Shafer is even worth it.  It looks and sounds awesome but if the review was spot-on then they are trying to do way too many things in one game instead of focusing on the core elements.  No game needs to be a mesh of every genre...it just can't possibly work out.  And why pay more for something that isn't done well in the first place?

  • Hell yeah!  I mean, hold on a sec...

Yes, I did just pull a quote from the game.  Is there a problem with that? :-P

  • This game is very good and deserves some DLC and patches to fix any problems.

  • am i in a minority of people that actually enjoyed the RTS-esque segments and the multiplayer?  i mean is wasnt amazing, but its only a small peart of one really awesome game and i enjoyed it just as much as any other part of the game.  its not like real rts, its a hybrid form with action gameplay, because you actually get down in the battles and team up with your units, i thought it was a lot of fun.  and im a person who doesnt normally enjoy real rts games (except starcraft)

  • I don't think this game will sell good.

  • Personally, I loved everything about this game. It wasn't perfect by any means, but it was loads of fun. I beat the game and got all the collectibles in one play through over one rental so it was definitely worth the money I paid for it.

I thought the RTS elements were a nice touch and it definitely added longevity to the game. My only concern with the Stage Battles is that they sometimes felt too massive to control.

I would love to see some single player DLC for this game. There is a lot of areas of the story that could be explored and made into really awesome DLC.

  • I don't own this game anymore (didn't enjoy as much as I thought I would) but I would personally like to see more investment put into the open world. Its a blast messing around in The Duece, but beyond collectables and scenery, there is no real reason to roam around. More animal types, random battles, or something would go a long way to making this game better in my book.

  • Jack Black rules

  • YES!!! MORE CAMPAIGN!!!

  • YES!!! MORE CAMPAIGN!!!

  • I really enjoyed the campaign and I'm glad they're going to extend on that.  I hope that it builds on the story and doesn't try to push the RTS segment of it.

  • I'd rather have more SP DLC, mostly because I thought it was way too short.

  • Yo i agree w/ Ellezdee and am i the only one who saw that the game leaves off on a cliffhanger?

    SPOILER

''This Brutal Land Is Safe Once More.......For Now.'' and he never returns home. That can be something to expand on as well as the fact that there are still Coil running around do I hear uprising anybody?
