PSP Minis Coming to PS3?

One of the stated advantages of the PSP Go handheld was the PSP Minis: smaller-sized titles that would suit the PSP Go's download-only premise and provide gamers with a quick gaming experience. Now rumor has it that these titles will be available for PS3.

Sony isn't commenting on the report, but apparently the Minis will be made available this month (with increased screen resolution for your TV), and going forward they will roll out simultaneously for both PSP Go and PS3 users. Regardless of whether the Minis come to PS3 or not, Sony plans to have 50 out by the end of the year.

Has anyone played a Mini? The chances of that must be slim, because we doubt anyone bought a PSP Go in the first place.

  • What Sony should do is allow the PS2 PSP ports to be downloaded and played on the PS3, though I have a pretty good theory as to why they don't do that.

  • mmm... maybe. i want sony to remaster games from the PS2 era to the PS3 since they refuse to add backwards play (just like the God of War Collection).

  • @Shawn Gordon

    Why's that?

  • you can play mini's on a normal PSP 1-3000 can't you?

  • I have a friend who purchased a PSP Go because he had the money to throw around, he said it was a neat device, and it makes a little more sense if you're traveling quite a bit, but he still prefers this PSP 1000 to the Go.

I'll see if I can comment on this more later

  • Well they better make a tetris one, so help me god..

And what about that sony psp-phone they never made? I was sure they even got the patent for it.

  • i didn't buy a pspgo and i never will,i don't know what kinda games they are.

  • Even less reason to purchase the Go, now that it doesn't have any exclusives.

  • The Go is completely worthless. And I'm sure 99% of these "minis" are too. I'd rather play spades on my blackberry than spend a dime on this un-needed piece of plastic with one analog nub an inch from the command buttons. Gimme a break. At least Sony is keeping the Chinese employed for a couple months making this soon to be forgotten "gem". And where ARE all the sweet ps2 game remasters for ps3?! Sell remastered AAA titles (maybe 2 or 3 games grouped together by developer on one?) on Blu-ray for $25- $40. That's where the money is.

  • If Sony made remastered PS2 games, it would definitely give them a boost. All that one of my friends thinks about is Kingdom Hearts (he was obsessed), and he saying they should make a KH3 for the PS3. The PS2 had the hands down uncontested best library for any console to date. Stretching 10 years, and selling more units than any other console, and Sony isn't tapping into that. If they did, they do a lot better coupled with the price drop and the slim.

  • Don't care. I would actually prefer if they just let me buy psp games for my ps3. honestly, they aren't going to sell PSPs, but they could still sell the games. Oh well.

  • Sounds pretty cool.

  • i sure didnt lol

  • @ Christian A. Ramos

    I second that.

  • Nope I never played a mini.

  • I am excited, and why not all psp go games?

  • I don't think so.

  • Why would sony make a console remake that still has the same capacities as the older one, except has a few more features... specially when the original model was failing as is

  • They are moving it to the PS3 likely to get more revenue out of them considering the GO is not GOING places.
