Final Fight And Magic Sword Return In 2010

by Meagan Marie on Dec 01, 2009 at 03:56 AM

In downloadable form, that is. Capcom just revealed Final Fight: Double Impact, a two-for-one title that will hit the PlayStation store and XBLA in April of next year. The release will play host to two Capcom classics – Final Fight and Magic Sword.

Offering plenty of action, Final Fight follows Cody, Guy and Haggar as they melee their way through Metro City in order to confront Mad Gear. In Magic Sword you play as “The Brave One,” a warrior who must rid an ancient tower of evil forces.

Double Impact is taking advantage of Capcom’s proprietary graphics engine to make the jump to HD. Don’t fret if you are a “purist pixel junky,” however, as you can swap between a classic arcade interface (above) and the smooth mode (below) as desired.

Multiplayer also harkens back to the arcade experience, allowing voice chat and the ability to join games in progress through an open invite system. Leaderboards will undoubtedly facilitate some friendly competition, making it easier to boast to friends without a photo of the cabinet in question.

Are you itching for some classic arcade action? If so, does Double Impact land a spot on your priority list?
